Katsuragi Onsen Happuno-yu is a hot spring resort in Sano, Katsuragi Town, Ito County. Visitors can bathe in the precious hot spring which has a high salt content as a result from its old seawater source known as fossil salt water. In the restaurant they serve Japanese style meals, rice bowls, noodles, individual dishes and desserts, etc. Banquet packages with hot spring bath included are also available. There are a wide range of facilities on offer including the Mongolian style sauna which visitors can use on arrival.

We were not sure what to expect but were pleased to find top notch service and a high quality food and Onsen experience. The rooms were a bit drab, but sparkling clean and comfortable. There are no...

"This hot spring facility offers a free shuttle bus from JR and Nankai Hashimoto Station. It features ten different baths with a blend of the ""GOLD water"" and ""SILVER water"" that wells up from the foot of renowned Koyasan, and their open-air bath has a great view of the sacred mountain. You can also try their ""GOLD water"" sauna, as well as mist and steam saunas with a blend of three kinds of water. Bring a plastic tank to take some of their GOLD water home with you. They sell their own mineral water too. Known as ""Tsukino Shizuku,"" it contains a mix of the water used in their baths."
