- This castle site is on the grounds of Akashi Park in Akashi City. The castle was built in 1619 by the first lord of the Akashi clan, Ogasawara Tadazane. Its remains are a National Historic Site. The tatsumi yagura turret and hitsuji-saru turret have the three-story structure, now rare in Japan and they are both National Important Cultural Properties. It's said that the hitsuji-saru turret has been transferred from Fushimi Castle.

Situated on the Japan Standard Time Meridian at 135 degrees east longitude, the facility looks at time and space and contains exhibits on Akashi and the meridian as well as time and space-themed exhibits. The museum also has a planetarium and holds planetarium programs with live narration. The museum also holds special exhibitions and stargazing sessions as well as children's planetarium, night museum, ""Kido Seitai Shigosenger"" and other events."

There are five production lines on the factory's vast grounds and each year some 50 million cases of products like Mitsuya Cider and Asahi Jurokucha are produced here. The factory offers free tours, and tour goers can see the canned and PET bottle product production process; sample Asahi drinks; and check out the Mitsuya Cider Museum, which also has a gift shop.

- "This museum is in 2 Chome, Uenomaru, Akashi City. Their permanent exhibit ""Human Life and the Natural Environment"" traces the development of Akashi natural history and human culture from 2 million years ago to the modern age. It is divided into eight themes. There are displays of fossils and stoneware excavated from the surrounding area, exhibits about the development of Akashi pottery, agriculture, and fishing, as well as the history of Akashi castle and its castle town. It also has a special exhibition hall and a hands-on learning studio. Its seafood and French restaurant Marseilles has a view of the Seto Inland Sea and Awaji Island."

明石駅から徒歩10分弱。明石公園に隣接。 入館料は200円。常設展は明石原人、アカシゾウから始まり、明石焼、農業・漁業、明石城など明石の歴史や文化に関する展示・解説が行われている。2階には明石市平和資料室があり、戦争体験者の話を映像で見ることができる。市立博物館としてはかなり充実した展示内容。明石城跡と合わせて見学するといいでしょう。

- This Shinto shrine is in Hitomaru-cho, Akashi City. It was founded in 1620 by Ogasawara Tadazane, the lord of Akashi Castle. It enshrines a deified form of the poet Kakinomoto-no-Hitomaro whose deep ties to Akashi were apparent in his classical poems. He's worshiped as a god of learning, marital harmony, safe childbirth, and fire safety.

明石市立天文科学館の直ぐ裏手に立地していましたが、「亀の水」側の鳥居から月照寺を抜けてコンクリート造りの神門から境内に入りました。 少し高台になっていましたが、正面に拝殿が立つ境内は広く、一角には駐車場も完備されていました。又、境内には明石市指定文化財もあり、歴史のある神社となっていました。

私は好きではないなー。神社の方々が海に詳しくないし、目の前、海なんですが海のこと、何をきいても「さぁ？」みたいな返事でした。知ってるのに教えたくないのか。 簡単な概略くらい教えてくれてもいいのに。 ４０年前はテトラなんかなくて、聞いても「さぁ」結局見に行く羽目に。 海の前にあるからちょっとは海の知識、つけてほしい。本当に目の前です。

「亀の水」脇に立つ柿本神社鳥居を潜り石段を上がって行くと山門に着きました。山門を潜って境内に進むと庭園として整備されており、又、境内前からは海方面への眺望が開けていました。 因みに駐車場は境内裏手側に整備されていました。

通用門側から境内に入りました。 外壁には説明板が取付けられており『伝「宮本武蔵」作庭 本松寺 庭園』と紹介されていました。境内に進むと枯池枯山水の庭園として整備されているようで、明石に迎えられていた宮本武蔵が作庭に当たったと伝えられているそうでした。

岩屋神社の道路を挟んだ隣にあるお寺です。天台宗のお寺のようです訪れた日は、門が閉まっていて中に入ることはできませんでした。観光地ではなく地域のお寺のようです。

こちらを訪問し 印象に残った景観が 2つありました。 一つは 境内に入ると 左手すぐにある[源氏稲荷]の《源氏稲荷大明神》と書かれた《陶製》扁額 と [無量光寺]山門前にあり 光源氏の恋の通い道と伝わる[蔦の細道]にある 地蔵尊の顔です。《陶製》扁額を時々 目にしますが こちらの《陶製》扁額は 珍しく 手造り感タップリで、地蔵尊の顔は 源氏物語の《明石の姫君》を連想させるほど 美しい顔なので こ...

魚住町に住む親せきによると牡丹の花が有名で時期になると大勢の人で賑わうようです。住吉神社と所縁もあるそうです。お庭はきれいに整備してあり気持ちの良い神社でした。

安養寺は、JR西明石駅から12分くらいのところにある浄土真宗本願寺派の寺院です。城西山安養寺と言います。2月に近辺を散策した時に立ち寄りました。寺の起源には諸説があるようであるが、室町時代に赤松五平という人が林の海岸で古い仏像を拾い、その姿にうたれ、教順と名をかえて僧侶となり、小さな祠で祀っており、1525年に安養寺を創立したと伝えられています。当日は、門が閉まっており門前の参拝でした。立派な山門...

慈泉寺は、JR西明石駅から徒歩10分くらいのところにある臨済宗妙心寺派の寺院で山号は、海嶽山です。2月に西明石に行った時に参拝しました。1254年に法燈国師が創設した歴史です。御本尊は、子安地蔵菩薩立像で子授け、安産にご利益があるとのことです。本堂の横な不動明王の石像もありました。神社仏閣に興味がある方は参拝されては如何でしょうか？
