A large culture and recreation facility located a 10-minute drive from the Sanda-nishi interchange on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway where visitors can see, experience, and enjoy Tamba ware, one of Japan's renowned six forms of ancient pottery. Tamba ware is characterized by its simple, un-affectated design and is highly utilitarian, making Tamba ware tableware excellent for everyday use. Some 70 superb examples of ancient Tamba ware created between the distant Kamakura period and the Edo period are displayed in the park's Traditional Learning Hall, as well as new pieces and traditional crafts by modern artisans. The park conducts clay crafting and pottery painting classes, as well. In addition, a wide variety of pottery is on display and offered for sale in the Kamamoto-Yokocho ceramics shop.

A large resort facility located seven minutes drive from the Tannan Sasayamaguchi interchange on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway. The facility was originally built to serve as a rest home for a labor union, but today it is open to the general public. Facilities include a campground, adventure park with two 19 station courses, tennis courts, and an outdoor pool, and visitors can also enjoy cycling and mountain climbing in the area. The facility offers a variety of seasonal events, such as firefly watching and experiencing rural life activities. Visitors can also take in area culture through things like Tamba ware pottery classes.

"This hands-on workshop facility is about a five-minute drive from JR Fukuchiyama Line's Kaibara Station. Their Craft Hall and Workshop is available for everyone from beginners to experts. They offer a variety of programs catering to the needs of individuals and groups, including workshops making folding chairs and ""Little Bear Towel Hangers"" that even elementary school kids can make. There are also outdoor facilities that parents and children can enjoy together such as a lawn area and their Wanpaku Plaza, as well as a restaurant with a large terrace and a settled atmosphere."

"This experience facility is located in the Kamitaki area of Sannan-cho, Tanba City. This facility is near the excavation site of Tambatitanis, one of the largest herbivorous dinosaur in Japan. In addition to fossil excavation experiences for finding fossils from rocks, it also sells local agricultural products, dinosaur goods and ""grilled dinosaurs"" shaped like dinosaurs."

Hyogo Areas

around-area-map

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
