This Shinto shrine is in Hitomaru-cho, Akashi City. It was founded in 1620 by Ogasawara Tadazane, the lord of Akashi Castle. It enshrines a deified form of the poet Kakinomoto-no-Hitomaro whose deep ties to Akashi were apparent in his classical poems. He's worshiped as a god of learning, marital harmony, safe childbirth, and fire safety.

An ancient Tendai Buddhist temple founded in the distant Nara period by Joue, eldest son of Fujiwara no Kamatari. The temple is located five minutes drive east of the Zenkai interchange on the Hanshin Expressway No. 7 Kita-Kobe Route. The temple's current buildings were all rebuilt in 1285 or after, but many of the structures on the grounds are historically valuable architectural examples, such as the temple's main temple building, a National Treasure which hints at the prosperity the temple enjoyed during the Nanboku-cho period when it was built. 18 other structures and temple treasures have been designated National Important Cultural Properties, including the temple's Deva gate, built in the mid-Muromachi period; and an early Kamakura period seated statue of Amitabha. Primeval forest surrounds the temple, which is a renowned destination for cherry blossom viewing in the spring and fall foliage in autumn.

    Hyogo Kobe-shi Kita-ku Arimacho 1641
"This temple belonging to the Jodo sect of Pure Land Buddhism is located near Onsen zenji Temple and the Taiko no Yudono museum (Gokurakuji Temple). The temple's scenic elevated location is said to have been where the villa of Kita no Mandokoro (the official title of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's wife Nene) once stood. The shrine's main hall, which was constructed in 1712, is said to be the oldest building in Arima Onsen. The Temple, which is included in the Kobe Shichifukujin Meguri pilgrimage, enshrines Jurojin, one of the Seven Lucky Gods. The beautiful garden beyond the main temple building is known as ""Sarajuen"" after its large 250-year-old Japanese stewartia tree. The temple hosts a stewartia flower and single-stringed Koto (traditional Japanese string instrument) appreciation party when the tree's flowers come into full bloom in June."

    この付近にはお寺が集まっていてそのうちのひとつです。観光客でいっぱいの湯本坂からもすぐのところですが、こちらまで来る人は少ないと見えて、湯本坂の喧騒がうそのような静かさですね。

"This Jodo Shinshu Honganji Buddhist temple, located a one-minute walk from Kobe Rapid Transit Railway Hanakuma Station, is a branch temple directly under the Nishihonganji Temple in Kyoto City. The temple's novel, Indian Buddhist design is inherited from the previous temple building which was built in 1930; due to its design, locals call it the ""Modern Temple."" The current temple building was completed after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake; the large structure is outfitted with a variety of facilities and features, including a multipurpose hall. At the request of the Kobe City government, the building is also lit up at night as an initiative to lead reconstruction and recovery efforts in the area."

Housed inside of Okuhirano water filtration plant built in 1917, the building has been designated a National Tangible Cultural Property. The grounds have also been selected for inclusion in a list of Kobe's top flower viewing destinations, and in the spring visitors can see cherry blossoms, azaleas, and wisteria. The museum is filled with water-themed interactive exhibits, such as a scale which will show you how much you weigh in water just by stepping on it, and a ""doodle aquarium"" in which you can watch your drawing is swimming in the water. The museum is closed Mondays; entry is free during events."

Hyougo Pref. Koubeshi Chuou-ku Koubekoujikata Mountain 1-3 again
"A Toji Shingon Buddhist temple located 20 minutes from the Kyobashi Interchange on the Hanshin Expressway No. 3 Kobe Route. The temple is easily identified by its crimson lacquered main gate, which stands out amidst the forest of Mt. Futatabisan. ""Futatabi"" means ""twice,"" and according to legend the name of this mountain is derived from the great monk Kobo Daishi praying here twice just prior to traveling to Tang dynasty China as an envoy. The temple is said to protect worshippers from palsy (strokes and other cerebrovascular diseases). The temple's principal object of worship, a statue of Cintamanicakra, is a hidden Buddha (a statue not normally made viewable to the general public); records state this wooden figure was created in the Nara period and, as the oldest Buddhist image in Hyogo Prefecture, it has also been designated a National Important Cultural Property."

Located in the “foreign building district (Ijinkan-gai)” of Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, this museum was opened with the assistance of the Denmark embassy and the Denmark commerce office. It introduces Denmark’s history and culture and contains many fascinating sights, including a Viking ship replica half the actual size along with a recreation of the study used by fairy tale author Hans Christian Andersen. Cute Denmark-inspired goods are also available at an adjoining facility. The nearest stations are Shin-Kobe Station and Sannomiya Station.

An observatory located right next to Hoshi no Eki Station on the Maya Viewline ropeway and cable car connecting the foot and peak of Mt. Maya. Boasting a sweeping view encompassing not just the Kobe area but also stretching all the way to Osaka Bay and the Kii Peninsula, the observatory's scenery is some of the most picturesque in the Kansai region. The nightscape created by the glittering lights of Kobe and Osaka is considered one of the three best in Japan. The sight of the streetlights in the area coming on after sunset is particularly stunning. Visitors should also be sure to check out the magical Maya Kirakira Komichi, a walking path embedded with sparkling, luminescent flakes.
