    "A Shinto shrine located next to the site of the Yanagihara Somon gate a five-minute walk from the south gate of JR Hyogo Station and a 10-minute walk from Kobe Rapid Transit Railway Shinkaichi Station and Daikai Station. Locals know the shrine as ""Yanagihara no Ebessan."" Dedicated to Ebisu and Omononushi no Okami, the shrine is believed to aid worshippers in the fishing industry and in attaining business prosperity. The shrine is one of seven dedicated to the Seven Gods of Fortune which make up a pilgrimage route in Hyogo. A grand festival dedicated to Ebisu is held at the shrine from January 9 to 11, attracting many visitors. An Awaji puppet theater performance called the ""Ebisumai"" as well as a tuna offering ceremony are held on January 9 as well."

    込み入った住宅街に有る小さな神社です。拝殿前に柵が有って近くには寄れません。JR神戸駅より徒歩7-8分ほどですが、再度行きたくなるような神社では有りません。

    This shopping district is available from Sannomiya Station on all lines. It is lined with shops from “Flower Road” all the way to Koikawasuji. It features a rare two-floor arcade design, which affords it a very open feel. You’ll find clothing, general goods, interior goods, books, restaurants, and many other shops here. Major stores such as Kobe Marui and Sannomiya Vivre are also available, and on days off nearly 100,000 people crowd this trendy district.

    A park between Hanakuma Station and Motomachi Station. It's the site of Hanakuma Castle, which is said to have been built by Araki Murashige on the orders of Oda Nobunaga in 1567. According to a stone monument at the park, Hanakuma Castle was spectacular with grounds that once covered an area that included what's now the prefectural office to the east, Zenpukuji Temple to the west, the area of the Kobe Streetcar Yamate Line to the north, and the area beneath the JR overpass to the south. There's a view out over Sannomiya and Motomachi from the plaza at the top of the stone steps. Replica stone fortifications are visible from the windows of JR trains.

    A tourist information center located in Kobe City. Located on the first floor of JR Sannomiya Station, the center serves as a gateway to the Sannomiya area and beyond. The center is filled with pamphlets on sightseeing spots and events in Kobe. Many of the center's pamphlets are available in English, Chinese, and Korean. There are always staff members on hand, and many of them are also able to speak more than one language. Visitors can purchase a commemorative pin celebrating 150 years since the opening of the Port of Kobe.

    "This temple is a special head temple of Toji Shingon Buddhism. Located a one-minute walk from Shin-Nagata Station on JR and subway lines, the temple is center for Kshitigarbha worship and is known as the ""Nagata no Ojizo-san."" The temple's main building, kitchen, and main gate were destroyed in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake of 1995, but today these structures have been rebuilt. The temple's principal object of worship is a statue of Kshitigarbha. A statue of the great monk Kobo Daishi and a statue of Samantabhadra are enshrined at the front of the main temple building on the right and left sides, respectively; a figure of Acala is also enshrined in the Gomado hall. Each month on the 28th, the day of Acala, a goma stick burning ceremony is held to pray to Acala."

    An office building which was erected more than a century ago. A part of the Former Foreign Settlement area, the building has been designated a Heritage of Industrial Modernization. Consisting of one underground floor and seven above ground, the building was an example of cutting-edge high-rise technology at the time of its construction. Designed in the American Renaissance style, the famous stone building serves as a symbol of the area. The structure still serves as an office building today and visitors are free to tour the hallways and toilets in the non-office areas. The exterior of the building is lit up at night for various seasonal events.

    An office building standing on Kaigan-dori Street in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. The building was originally constructed to serve as the Kobe branch office for Mitsui & Co. in 1918. The modern stone building was completely destroyed by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. The granite outer walls were salvaged and reused for the facade of a new skyscraper built on the same spot. Accordingly, today the building has a unique design consisting of a retro stone building style base from which rise a towering glass skyscraper. The structure is still used as an office building.

    A loop line bus which travels around Kobe City. The line's old-fashioned style buses are painted a subdued moss green. The busses travel around notoriously hilly downtown Kobe in a loop taking approximately 60 minutes. The bus fee for one trip is the same no matter where you get on and off. You can also purchase a money saving day pass. The line has 17 stops and links up to such popular sightseeing destinations as Kobe Harborland, the Former Foreign Settlement, the Kitano Ijinkan, Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street, the Kobe Nunobiki Ropeway, and Meriken Park.

    "A gallery shop located south of the central plaza in Kobe's Nankinmachi Chinatown. The gallery sells traditional Chinese ""flower character"" calligraphy which resembles pictures of flowers and birds and other calligraphic works created by calligrapher Chen Zhan. The shop also sells pieces created by the artist using unique, personally developed methods such as ""plum blossom"" calligraphy in which plum flowers are drawn around the characters, and ""happy dragon"" calligraphy in which the character for happiness and good fortune is depicted in the form of a dragon. All of the shop's products are meant to bring good luck and make for popular gifts. Customers can choose from a wide variety, from small square pieces to hanging scrolls."

    This is a Western-style residence originally built for US Consul General Hunter Sharp in 1903, located in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. This white walled residence of early foreign settlers was constructed as a residence for Mr. Hilton in the late Meiji period, and after the war, it was also used as the Panama consular office. The interior of the building is divided into six areas such as the “the Illusion World”, “Masterpieces World” and the “the Maze Room”, and there are countless exhibits of trick art which use optical illusions and perspective. At the museum, you can experience for yourself and you can enjoy taking photographs like entering into a painting.
