This sake brewery located in 1 Chome, Tegara, Himeji City was established in 1910. Their fine Nadagiku brew and other products are renowned at home and abroad. They make their sake with carefully selected brewing rice grown in the prefecture, including Hyogo Yumenishiki, a special product of Nishiharima. You can visit their wooden sake storehouse that remains as it was when the brewery was founded, as well as view brewing equipment and panel displays on the modern sake making process. They hold tastings in their shop, and have a restaurant, too.

"This sake brewery is located about seven minutes by car from Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway's Higashiura Interchange. Founded in 1875, their top-class ""Chiyo-no-Enishi"" Daiginjo sake has won numerous gold medals at the Annual Japan Sake Awards. When their sake's being produced, you can get a close look at the brewing process and take part in tastings of fresh sake. Generally, there are three or four varieties available at any given time. Their elegantly flavored sweet half-sake made from Daiginjo sake lees comes recommended. A small gallery on the second floor has antique equipment on display."

"About 7 minutes from the Seitan Mihara IC on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway via Prefectural Route 31, this sake brewery is dedicated to creating excellent sake by adding new techniques while respecting traditional techniques. The ""Junmai Daiginjo MUGENDAI,"" made with a hanging tenbin press, and the ""Junmai Ginjo Wakamiya no Shizuku,"" a limited edition sake brewed with rice suitable for sake brewing grown by duck farming, are highly recommended."

"This brewery founded in 1849 is located in a rich natural setting about 15 minutes from Kasuga Interchange on the Maizuru Wakasa Expressway. The brewery continues to make sake that is not ""that phantom sake you would like to drink just once"" but instead ""that once-in-a-lifetime sake you want to drink again."" The brewery's classic Kotsuzumi is a famous Tamba sake named by the poet Kyoshi Takahama. It has received high praise from all over the world as a fresh-tasting rice wine that represents the best of what Japanese sake to offer. The brewery's novel yet nostalgic bottle designs were created by the artist Kosuke Watanuki. He continues to innovate even now through unfettered thinking that blends Japanese and Western styles, and furthermore, transcends any borders."

Hyogo Areas

around-area-map

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
