Besides daily rituals, they hold the Tsuki Hajime Sai and Hatsu Hoko Sai on the 1st of every month, the Tsukinami no Matsuri on the 16th, as well as various events throughout the year that attract visitors from all over Japan. The shrine's kobanomitsuba azaleas have been designated a Prefectural Natural Monument, and they hold an Azalea Festival in April.

In the spring, scenery of fresh green and flowering trees and bushes like mountain cherries, magnolias, and azaleas spreads below you, and in summer you can enjoy the trilling of insects and the night view. The colored leaves across the mountainside are gorgeous in autumn, and in wintertime you can take in the glistening snowscape. It's been honored from ancient times as the sacred place in Japanese mythology where the two deities descended to the earth and created the nation. Worshiping there is thought to aid marriage and safe delivery of children. The shrine's 21.7-meter-tall vermillion-lacquered torii gate was built in 1982. A rare pine tree beside it called the Sanko-no-Matsu has three needles in each bunch that are considered a fortune symbol.

    Hyogo Pref. Asagoshi Wadayamachoutakeda
This mountain-top castle built on land at an elevation of 353 meters is also known as Torafusu-jo (Lying Tiger Castle) due to its shape which resembles a tiger lying down. Looking up at the castle from down below, it appears as though it is floating in the sky, and since it is enveloped by a sea of clouds that form due to the early morning fog in the autumn, it is also nicknamed the “castle in the sky” and “Japan’s Machu Picchu.” The season when the sea of clouds appears is from September through November, and the time from dawn to about 8:00 a.m. is recommended for the best view. One can see the entire castle floating in the sea of clouds from Ritsuunkyo halfway up Mt. Asago on Takeda Castle’s southeastern side.
