This resort has good access, being only 15 minutes from the Hidaka Kannabe Kogen Interchange and accessible via a national route that’s kept plowed through the winter. 80% of the courses are easy beginner and intermediate slopes, making it especially popular with those new to skiing. With an average slope of seven degrees, all the runs are broad so there’s no worry of running off the course or into other skiers. There are two kids areas, and the Ueno Daira Slope’s Super Kids Way is Japan’s longest at 150 meters. It is also nice that there’s a gas station and a convenience store on the way to the resort from the interchange.

They offer night skiing on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, so you can enjoy it on your way back from work or school.

Id like to preface this as this was my first time skiing, so I dont know what it is like to ski on real snow. This is an artificial resort and I went on the last day of the season in March. You...

Hyounosen Kokusai Ski Resort is Kansai’s only racing center. It has a variety of courses for everyone from beginners to advanced level skiers. The large Panorama Course part way up Mt. Hyono’s varied northern slope is popular. There is also a park area with various items and the Kids Smile Park where parents and kids can play together.

Hyogo Areas

around-area-map

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
