Ishikiri-Tsurugiya Shrine, located in Higashi-Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, has been beloved by locals for ages for Ishikiri-san, who is revered as the “god of boils.” It is famous for the “hyakudo-ishi” (stone used as a marker for hundred times worship) at the entrance, as well as the practice of vising the main shrine a hundred times in a ritual known as “ohyakudo-mairi.” It is said to have been founded during the reign of Emperor Jimmu, and the shrine name means “a sword and arrow that can pierce stone.” In front of the main shrine are camphor trees that are about 470 years old, and they are registered in Higashi-Osaka as a Natural Monument. The approach to the shrine has a shopping street with a retro feel and is filled with visitors year-round.

This urban park stretches northwest of the Katamachi Line's Fujisawa Station, with Yamada Pond at its center. Yamada Pond is said to have been built 1,200 years ago, and a huge variety of birds can be observed in the rich natural surroundings. There are three zones to the park, the Rice Terraces, Orchards and Mixed Grove of Trees. These three zones depict the landscape of old-fashioned Japan, and because of this, the park was selected as one of Japan's top 100 historical parks in 2006. There is a barbeque plaza, making it ideal for creating memories with your children, and the park can also be used for photography, especially cosplay photoshoots. No fee is required for small-scale photography, and changing rooms are available, free of charge.

This is a beautiful park with a lake. I visited in winter, but I suspect it would be beautiful in autumn and spring. There are many different types of gardens. There are many toilets available and it...

This shrine is located up the stairs just east of the Kintetsu Nara Line's Hiraoka Station. It is in Kawachi Province (before 1868), the main deity is Amenokoyane no mikoto. It is said that the shrine was built three years before the crowning of the first Emperor, Emperor Jinmu. To the south of the shrine is a ume (plum) tree forest, the scent of which caused it to be selected as one of Japan's top 100 aromatic landscapes. It is a very popular tourist destination. At the end of the year, a religious comedy festival is held at Hiraoka Shrine. In this event, the participants laugh continuously along with the head priest for 20 minutes. The media gives a special report on the event, and the number of visiting tourists increases year after year.

amazing and beautiful place. Just wished they were a little more open to let people wear what they wanted (like gloves) and not so obsessed about where you step (even with a stroller).

This memorial archive of materials related to Shiba Ryotaro is just an eight-minute walk from Yaenosato Station on the Nara Line (Kintetsu). Osaka Katanoshi Kisaichi 9-19-1
This shrine is located about 3.5 kilometers from Kisaichi Station on the Keihan Katano line. The shrine is dedicated to a massive boulder, Ame no Iwafune (Stone ship of heaven), measure about 12 meters long and 12 meters high. Legend says that Nigihayahi no Mikoto, patron deity of the Mononobe clan, descended to earth on a ship that then turned to stone, and was sanctified here. Visitors can also see the shrine's boulder filled stone caverns, long known as spots for follower of mountain Shugendo Buddhism, preserved as-is on the Stone Cave Tour.

This vast park at the foot of mountains is approx. six minute-walk from the Kintetsu Railway Nara Line's Hiraoka Station. In the cherry blossom square, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Higashi Osaka City, about 100 Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom every year during the peak season, painting the entire area in pink. In addition, there are also observatories where you can watch Osaka's spectacular sunset, and a stone tablet with a haiku written by Matsuo Basho during his last trip crossing Kuragari Pass. Forest Toy Box, which reopened in June 2016, is 100-120 meters high, and uses its height and slope for a roller slide that is very popular with children.

Nice park for a morning walk if you dont have a lot of time. Nice little waterfall. Few shrine along the way up.

The shrine was established in 470 to worship for the protection of the country of Kawachi and with a history of over 1,500 years is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. At the top of the 131 stairs is the worship hall and maple trees, and on either side stand the God of Rabbits and God of Dragons. It is thought that stroking the statues after worshipping at the shrine will bring good luck and ward off illness and calamity. Inside the precincts there is a well called Akaido that has a connection with Kobo Daishi. It is a mysterious well where the water flows a brownish red color before it rains.

This super-sized public bath is in the residential area, south of the Kintetsu Osaka Line's Takayasu Station. The highlight of this hot spring is the size of its open-air bath. The rooftop of the building has also been converted into an outdoor bath, and it is more than large enough to sit back and relax in. The depth of the baths varies, and one of the hot spring's many charms is the view of Mt. Shigi, which can be seen in the distance as you relax half-submerged in one of the baths or sitting at a foot bath. The hot spring also has a spacious sauna, among other facilities. There is also a direct sales store, where produce harvested in the morning by local farmers is available to be bought the very same day. These blessings of the earth are proudly made into souvenirs of Yao City.
