- This pond is approx. a three-minute walk from the Hankai Uemachi Line's Tezukayama Sanchome Station. In the past, it was said that a strange monster inhabited the pond, with the legend that Prince Shotoku sent monks to chant mandala sutras in order to appease it. Because of this, the pond was called Mandala Pond, but eventually became mispronounced to its current name. There is a park nearby with playground equipment for children, and cherry blossom trees are planted along the promenade. Bustling with cherry blossom viewers in the spring, you can see migratory birds resting their wings at the pond in the winter.
