The hot spring's best feature is its enormous garden open-air bath. Each week, the men's and women's baths alternate between the Mori no Tsubo bath, created with stones which came down the Totsukawa river, and the Chikurin bath, which is surrounded by a bamboo forest. The natural hot spring's water is hypotonic, weak alkaline, hot water, which comes from 700 meters underground and is said to be effective for promoting good health and for muscle pain. There are also relaxation facilities including body care and beauty treatment available. It is possible to re-enter the baths afterwards.
