The restaurant's Kanto-daki stew has been made according to the same unchanged recipe since the first owner gave it a unique, rich flavor by using saezuri whale tongue. The establishment has also been a favorite of numerous writers and persons of culture, including Sakunosuke Oda, Shotaro Ikenami, Kazuo Dan, Seiko Tanabe, and Ken'ichi Yoshida; and has even appeared in various works of fiction!
