    “Hoop” is a large building in front of Osaka Abenobashi Station with a unique exterior resembling the name. It is filled with fashion stores, with about 50 stores in total from the basement floor to the sixth floor. There are many famous brands aimed at young women as well as select boutiques and popular cafes and restaurants. Add in a Tower Records, bookstore, ABC Mart, and other major stores, and it’s easy to see why this place is always brimming with customers.

Tsutaya Bookstore stocks about 150,000 books and magazines, and also sells books tailored to themes on each floor. At the Starbucks Cafe on the third floor, you can also read books before purchasing them while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Since opening in 2005, it has become a major landmark in Chayamachi; it is distinguished by its post-modern external appearance, reminiscent of bamboo screens. In 2011, NU chayamachi Plus opened opposite the original NU chayamachi; between them, the two malls constitute a large-scale shopping complex with around 100 individual stores.
