    Kyoto Miyadushi Monju
This is an amusement park at the summit of Mt. Monju, Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture with a viewing platform from which one can see Amanohashidate. Along with attractions including go karts, merry go rounds and a Ferris wheel, the view from the viewing platform restaurant is stunning. There are seven “fork peepholes” that allow one to look between the forks of Amanohashidate, and the Hiryukan through which one can see what looks like a dragon ascending to heaven. There are monorail and lift services to and from the foot of the mountain.

I have wanted to go to this place for a long time, to complete the Japan 3 View. I was visiting some local friends near Fukuchiyama and we decided to drive there. I was lucky that the weather...

    Kyoto Miyadushi Ogaki
Located on the north side of Amanohashidate, this park is famous for its viewing platform located 130 meters up the side of Mt. Nariai deemed the “birthplace of ‘matanozoki’ (bending over and looking at the world upside-down from between one’s legs).” The Amanohashidate Cable Car and a lift operate between Fuchu Station at the foot of the mountain and Kasamatsu Station, making it easy to come view the scenery. The view of Amanohashidate from here is considered one of the three best of the area. Referred to as “Naname ichimoji” (“the Slanted Character,”) it is also called the “view of the rising dragon” due to its resemblance to a sinuous dragon rising towards the heavens. The park is filled with enjoyable sites and areas, including a circular sky deck, wooden viewing deck, wishing bell and wishing lock rail, and the Ama Terrace restaurant.

while going up used cable car and while returning used single chair lift Both were fun and very good , safe

Approximately a seven-minute walk from the Amanohashidate Station of the Kyoto Tango Railway, and about a 10-minute drive from the Miyazu Amanohashidate Interchange off of the Kyoto Jukan Expressway, this beach is located in a westerly direction towards the ocean, starting from the north side of the Daitenkyo Bridge. One of the attractive features of this beach is its direct accessibility from the Shotenkyo Bridge through the many minshuku and ryokan lodgings. The swimming season opens every year in mid-July, filling the beach with visitors who are enjoying the white sand, clear blue water and the green trees that dot the Amanohashidate, which is lighted up at night every year for a limited time only.

Clean beach, great for family and friends gathering. You can walk from end to end in the beach, takes around 50 minutes. There are two parts of beaches, the south part and the north part of the long...

The museum conveys the charm of Japanese brick architecture and its history through exhibits like Bricks of the World, The Hoffman Kiln, The Story of Japanese Bricks, and Bricks and Maizuru City.

A beach northeast of the Shotenkyo. Situated on the westernmost tip of the six kilometer long Long Beach on the Sea of Japan, this beach is the best stretch of white sands and green pines in Sanin Kaigan National Park. During swimming season each year the beach bustles with visitors. The beach was also selected for inclusion in the 88 Best Swimming Beaches in Japan list in 2001. The waters here are shallow and excellent for families with children; another of the area's charms is its abundance of hotels nearby, making this a great destination for a trip. Beachside clubhouses and DJ booths operate during the swimming season.

Shotenkyo, that separates Kumihama Bay and the Sea of Japan. This beach is beautiful with its clear, shallow waters, white sand, and is lined by green pine trees. Some decades ago Shotenkyo was one...

Gorogadake Park is located on the top of Mt. Gorogadake in the city of Maizuru in Kyoto Prefecture. It contains a plaque that commemorates the establishment of sister city relations with Nakhodka, Russia, as well as several plazas and lawns, one of which is named after Nakhodka. A designated National Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument, this beach offers “singing sands” which make a pleasant squeaking noise when stepped on. The beach’s waters are extremely clear. Walk along its 1.8 kilometer length and you will find some portions make a sound like a drum. “Singing sands” are a sign that a beach is extremely clean and as the ashes from cigarettes disrupts this effect, no smoking is permitted on the beach. A free open-air bath where you can warm yourself in between swims is located in the middle of the beach.

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
