    This Kyoto sweet shop located in the Kashiwaya-cho neighborhood of Shimogyo Ward was founded in 1803 under the renowned Kameya Ryoan sweet shop. In addition to year round products and seasonal sweets, the shop also holds classes on making fresh Japanese sweets provided by confectionary artisans (reservation required; interpretation in English and Chinese available).

    阪急梅田店で笑み福を見つけたので買ってみました。小豆羊羹に、縁起のいい素材が散りばめられた、お正月-節分までの限定和菓子。お正月は干支柄の包装紙ですが、1月中旬-は節分用の包装紙に代わる。デコレーションケーキにも見える和洋折衷菓子の羊羹で美味しかった。縁かつぎついでにコロナも終息しないかなぁ-って思いながら頂きました。

    A long-standing shop selling broiled sweet chestnuts with over 140 years of history. They only use a special type of chestnut from the Qinglong Manchu Autonomous County in Qinhuangdao City, Heibei Province, China. They use a caldron that's been in use for over 80 years and the chestnuts are roasted by highly skilled craftsmen. Along with their sweet chestnuts other popular products include a sweet chestnut sugared red bean as well as chestnut ice cream and chocolate chestnut confections.

    A Kyoto sweet shop with a long history that first opened in 1716, the same year that Tokugawa Yoshimune assumed the role of the 8th Tokugawa shogun. Since their founded they have worked as a special confectioner for the Kyoto Imperial Palace, various Shrines and Temples, and the head of the tea ceremony. Along with the traditional dorayaki pancake and red bean paste treat they make the standard Daruma-san(bean-jam-filled wafers) and Goma-tsutsumi (sesame bun confections) as well as treats suited for seasons and holidays including Boy's Day in May and Mother's Day.

    A Kyoto confectioner founded in 1893. They offer incredibly popular imaginative sweets that stick to the classic formalities where sweets aren't mass produced but are instead filled with spirit. One of their most famous treats is the adorable multicolored Kyofusen snack, made to recall the various colors of the multi-layered garments worn by the court ladies during the classic Heian-period.

    高島屋でもお取り扱いがありますが、本店が烏丸駅から徒歩10分ほど、なんなら地下を通ると地上にいる時間は5分ほどでしたので、暑い夏場でも行く気になりました。山芋を使った上生菓子を頂きました。ふわふわしていて、美味しい。

    ちょうど祇園祭の期間中で伊勢丹のデパ地下は祇園祭限定スイーツがいっぱいでした。千寿せんべいが看板商品の鼓月では祇園祭の様子がプリントされた期間限定の千寿せんべいがありました。包装も祇園祭で定番商品がお祭限定商品に変身していました。
