  • POP KYOTO

Kyoto Kyoutoshi Shimogyou-ku Nishikiyamachishijou Upper Le Mamachi 97 Immersium Building 1F
"A cafe and bar located on the first floor of the same building as WORLD KYOTO, a long standing Kyoto nightclub. Decorated in bright, primary colors, here customers can enjoy fresh cocktails and fruit juices. One item on the menu that people are particularly paying attention to is the ""eco-presso,"" espresso served in a cookie-based cup that you can eat. The inside of the cup is coated with icing that keeps the espresso from leaking out and also goes great with the bitter flavor of the beverage. A bar where you can take fun pictures, drink, and eat, the establishment is popular with men and women of all ages."

The bar offers delicious drinks and a comfortable space to enjoy them. It does not have a drink menu. Instead, you just tell the bartender what sort of drinks you like and how you like them served. One of the bar's biggest attractions is its huge selection of wines and spirits, which includes single malt whiskeys, brandies, rums, champagnes, carefully selected vintage port wines, sherry wines, dessert wines, and more.

We were staying close by at the Citadines and were looking for somewhere to go for a drink before dinner. It’s located down a little side street and is a beautiful, small bar. The cocktails are...

This backstreet shot bar is located inside a renovated Kyo-machiya (traditional Kyoto-style townhouses) a short way from a downtown. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of drinks including wine, whiskey, bourbon, and cocktails. The relaxed and mature atmosphere is rather conducive to great conversation between friends, family, colleagues, and significant others.

Took us a while to find this cool little bar as google maps had us at the wrong side of the block. Was worth the wait though, great cocktails and reasonable prices. Would return.

  • Isomatsu

Kyoto Kyoto-shi Nakagyo-ku Kawaramachidori Shijo Agaru Komeyacho 384
An izakaya pub part of the Isoya Group that works with their personal Isozumi Farm and other contracted farms to deliver fresh Kyoto produce. Working with the concept of The Taste and Enjoyment of Kyoto Produce and Wine here you can taste the marriage of wine and Kyoto produce. The shop interior has a chic feel based around a black theme. The moment you open the door their impressive wine cellar jumps out at you. The dishes designed to pair with the wines, from fresh vegetables for simple wines to pickled goods for more vinegar wines, are also a feast for your eyes. Well known as a shop where you can relax and enjoy the casual atmosphere.

An izakaya pub marked by a large red eye-catching paper lantern, just down a narrow street off of Kawaramachi-dori St. They serve high quality oden stew and casual skewers made with fresh Kyoto produce delivered every morning from their person Isozumi Farm. The concept of the shop is a pub that even women can readily enter. They have a lot of female customers that come to enjoy high-quality Kyoto produce in their chic and relaxed interior. Of course, the food but also the energy of the staff, the portion size, and perfect serving timing add to the established reputation of comfort.

This storied Kyoto bar is located on Teramachi Street a five-minute walk from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station. Founded back in 1918, its long history has earned it a place at the top of any list of bars in Kyoto. The bar's walls and pillars are covered in bottle openers received from customers from the floor to the ceiling. Guests can feel the history of the old bar in its seasoned retro interior. The bar is a place for grownups can have a good time whether they've been coming for 20 years or they're visiting for the very first time.

The Owner is rather a good advisor about Whisky. He knows exactly what you will appreciate. Of course you are just a tourist and the owner doesn’t care about who you are but if you ask question he...

"This wine bar is located at the intersection of Shinmachi Street and Takoyakushi Street a five-minute walk from Karasumaru Station. Floor-to-ceiling windows give the charming renovated traditional townhouse a sense of openness. Guests can enjoy carefully selected natural wines in the bar's relaxed atmosphere. ""Natural wine"" refers to wine that is made in a manner as close as possible to nature in order to fully bring out the power of nature. Natural wines are notable for the deep flavor provided by the power of the grapes. You can feel the owner's near-obsessive love for wine in the photos and comments that have been affixed to each of the many bottles of wine that line bar's wall."

Nice wine bar not far away from Shijo station. We went around 8:30pm for a glass of wine and some cheese/ham. The service is good, the ambiance is nice. The one thing that irked me beyond belief was...

This jazz bar stands along the atmospheric cobbled streets of Pontocho Alley. The bar has always had a unique atmosphere since opening in this historic neighborhood some half century ago. "This standing bar has a concept of ""tasty, affordable, fast, fun, and clean."" Guests can enjoy a broad selection of food that ranges from standby dishes to creative cuisine in the bar's bright and clean interior. Located inside a charming renovated townhouse that faces Takoyakushi Street, it has surprisingly stylish interior finishings for a standing bar. The smoke-free bar is patronized by people getting a quick drink after work or having a girls' night out. It also accepts reservations, offers party courses, and can also be rented out, making it great for parties and other events."

The sake and oolong sochu are great. The staff are friendly and willing to help. I’ve tried three different drinks, both of them are great. The price is not expensive. I’d like to recommend this bar...

This restaurant offers up delicious Mexican cuisine, which is a registered World Intangible Cultural Heritage. It focuses on delicious, healthy dishes using the highest quality avocados in modern arrangements. Their guacamole and chips offers a direct taste of the highest quality avocado, and are a big hit. They combine spiciness with the perfect level of acidity to create an addictive taste sensation. They also have a full drink menu with mojitos, pairing mint and tequila, drinkably sour El Diablo, and other cocktails.

This place was absolute garbage, gutter trash. I would rather eat from the river next to the restaurant. I paid $50 for a pitcher of sangria that absolutely had zero alcohol, a margarita that was 2-3...

It is open from 13:00 and visitors can enjoy a set menu for lunch. The cuisine is reasonably priced such as 130 yen for a fried pork skewer, and dishes of traditional Kyoto home style cooking and a la carte dishes beginning from 300 yen. The carefully prepared cuisine is served simply and guests can enjoy a special time here. The restaurant has a wonderful ‘at home' feel, so guests feel happy to come alone. You can also book the entire restaurant for a banquet, and enjoy the relaxed space fully.

This bar located in the Shimogyo Ward of Kyoto City in Kyoto Prefecture stands out for its fashionable interior that calls to mind an early American brick warehouse. The interior is illuminated only by candlelight and moonlight instead of electric lights, and has the mellow, relaxed atmosphere of a hideaway place for adults. Along with the view of the Kamogawa River that can be seen from the window, guests can enjoy more than 300 types of alcoholic beverages. From May through September they carry on the summer tradition of kawadoko (a raised platform on the bank of a river for enjoying the cool in summer) and guests can experience the coolness of the Kamogawa River under the night sky.

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
