Kyoto Prefecture Kyoto City Chukyo-ku Ashiya-cho Tosugawaue
This hidden gem located just a 10-minute walk from the Shingu Marutamachi Station on the Keihan Line, or from the Shiyakusho-mae Station on the Tozai Subway Line, or the Marutamachi Station on the Karasuma Subway Line. Preserving a Japanese feel within a modern design, this restaurant is set into a quiet residential neighborhood. The meaning of the name Hafuu combines the characters for wave and wind, with the hopes that guests would enjoy their meals in a relaxed atmosphere as though being caressed by a gentle breeze. Formerly a butcher shop, the discriminatingly chosen of exquisite Japanese wagyu steaks are the specialty of this restaurant. Dining at lunchtime is recommended, when one can enjoy a high grade steak at a reasonable price.

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
