This picture studio is run by a venerable kimono shop with 100 years of history behind it. They have authentic maiko and geiko kimonos made with Kyo-yuzen dyed brocade made by hand by traditional craftsmen. All of the makeup and dressing specialists on staff are professionals with experience in film and theater. Of course, you can get pictures taken in their atmospheric tatami-floor studio, and they also offer walks through Kyoto with a professional photographer in tow. They have a large variety of traditional Japanese and Western styles for all kinds of events, like children's kimonos for shrine visits and the Shichi-Go-San festival, wedding dresses and tuxedos, and more.

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
