    This restaurant in a freestanding house next to the five-storied pagoda in the Higashiyama Ward of Kyoto City in Kyoto Prefecture serves authentic Italian food that is prepared primarily with Kyoto-produced ingredients. To offer a taste unique to Kyoto, they go so far as to use Kyoto water in their cooking in addition to Kyoto vegetables. Made with an effort to draw out the flavor, texture and appearance, their various dishes such as the mushroom risotto or lamb with charcoal-grilled vegetables (both standard items on the menu ever since it opened) are bound to capture the palate of gourmands. The restaurant also garners attention for its elegant exterior of a restored Japanese home and its beautiful interior decorated in modern Western style.

    カウンターでオーダーメイドとも言うべき高級食材をふんだんに使ったフレンチを個別に作って頂けます。多少高すぎるのですが、海外の方を招待するには良い雰囲気です。

    French restaurant in Kyoto. Escargot and pate starters were excellent. Steak frites done to perfection and good (and cheap for Japan) house wine. Our cheapest dinner in Japan and great fun.
