Kyoto Prefecture Kyoto City Omiyadori neutral sales Kamigyo-ku Oshimatsu-cho 6923 Ishikaku-cho
This café located in the Kamigyo Ward of Kyoto City in Kyoto Prefecture makes use of an old Kyoto machiya (townhouse) and is a popular place to enjoy breakfast or tea time while gazing out at the garden’s greenery. Their signature menu consists of pancakes cooked one at a time after receiving the order, which have a melt-in-your-mouth texture and pair well with the sweet syrup. The most popular item is their Fruits Garden Pancake, which is topped full of fruits and cream. In addition to typical table and counter seats, they also have sofa seats that are perfect for girls-only gatherings.

I had seen that Japanese pancakes were distinctly fluffier than traditional pancakes so wanted to see what they tasted like, and whether they had a touch of soufflé about them. Whilst the pancakes...

This stylish cake shop opened in 1998. It pursues originality in everything from the combination of ingredients, the balance of its flavors, and the shapes of its cakes. We recommend their original iramisu, a masterpiece that has remained a perennial favorite since it was first sold in 2002.

Popped in for cake because we couldnt resist the tempting display. Two perfectly delicious light textured beautiful pieces of confectionery. The lady was so very helpful carefully boxing them up...

    Kyoto Kyoto-shi Kita-ku Kamigamoazekachicho 45-1
This shop sells delicious cheesecakes with a nostalgic flavor that will soften and even the hardest heart. It makes and sells baked sweets and other confections such as their Simple Cheesecakes, which have been the shop's flagship product since it opened in 1999, as well as cookies, pound cakes, roll cakes, and seasonal fruit tarts. The shop does not freeze any of its products, assuring that its fresh-baked flavor is preserved. Their cheesecakes, which are made with French cream cheese, are notable for their refreshing flavor. Their baked cheesecake assortments, which include one slice of six different varieties of cheesecake, make excellent souvenirs.

These are the most delicious cheese tarts that Ive ever eaten. Even better than the ones from Pablo!

    食べ過ぎ注意、教えたくない店です。荒神口のあたりは隠れた名店が多いですがここもその一つ。華やかさのあるタイプではないですが確実に良い材料を使っていらっしゃる、本当のケーキだと思います。

    Eze bleuのパン屋さんに行って、こちらのお店でお茶をしました。 妙に落ち着く店内で思わず長居してしまいました。 ショートケーキのスポンジが軽くてふわふわで美味しかったです。

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
