    Kyoto Kyoto-shi Higashiyama-ku Gionmachiminamigawa 570-8
This cafe is inside a Kyoto machiya house that has been passed down for four generations. The shop offers a truly Japanese experience as you remove your shoes at the door, step into their floor-seating room and gaze out on the small inner garden while you enjoy their luxurious sweet treats. Their most popular dish is the Tofu Matcha Cheesecake, made without any eggs, milk, butter or other dairy products. They replace the cheese with tofu to create a mellow, creamy half-baked cheesecake delicacy. It has earned high marks not only from those suffering from food allergies, but the calorie-conscious and those who prefer less-sweet treats as well. In the evening the cafe becomes a home bar that is not open to first time customers.

It stands in front of the general reception area of Building 2, which holds the Maizuru City Commemoration Hall, and offers a ""Naval Menu"" that recreates dishes from the former Imperial Navy's cookbook and old cooking references. As Maizuru is considered to be the birthplace of the Nikujaga meat and potatoes dish, they offer a Nikujaga Don rice bowl, as well as Kaigun (navy) curry made from the original recipe, Kaigun beef cutlet made from a recipe that was introduced along with the opening of Japan to outsiders in the Meiji era, and more dishes you won't find anywhere else. Located in a quiet residential area along Prefectural Route 50, the white interior of this café offers a bright and warm atmosphere, and the large windows by the entrance provide a view of the flowers blooming in the garden and the leaves changing colors in the fall.

If my guess is right, they are out of business. I saw wood board covering entrance door. I will apologize if I am wrong, but it looks abandoned for 6 months or so.

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
