A coffee shop in Higashiyama. The first location in Japan for this chain which has shops in Hong Kong, Dubai, and Kuwait. Here patrons can enjoy coffee made with high quality equipment using beans from company farms in locations like Hawaii. One of the shop’s baristas is a former world latte art champion!

Very tiny and rather crowded Cafeon even mis weekday. The coffee was really great and so was the sparkling lemonade!

This venerable café located in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture was founded in 1932. The flavor of the coffee, which has been roasted in-house since the shop was first opened, goes perfectly with the café’s fluffy pancakes and French toast. The shop’s retro and relaxing atmosphere backed by the warmth of brick and wood is also part of its charm. A Western-style restaurant is located on the second floor; the Smart Lunch, which gives you a choice of two main dishes, is its feature menu item. Smart Coffee is popular not only with regulars but tourists as well.

Pancakes were definitely my favourite, the sandwiches were good too but if you have a sweet tooth definitely go for the pancake! You can also get it in a set with a drink.

The menu includes carefully selected coffee, as well as nostalgic Neapolitan tomato sauce spaghetti served on an iron plate and Bolognese meat sauce spaghetti. The most eye-catching item on the menu is the “Corona omelet sandwich” inherited from the ex-owner of the shop used to be named Café Corona. This is a fluffy thick omelet sandwiched between thin pieces of bread. It is a popular dish featured in magazines and on TV programs.

Have you ever had Napolitan (its a japanese style tomato ketchup pasta) or ever tried thick egg omelet sandwich??? ok if you answer is no, this is where you should go ! This napolitan is rich...

Kyoto Kyoto-shi Nakagyo-ku Takoyakushidori Karasuma Nishiiru Hashibenkeicho 236
A five-minute walk from Karasuma Station and Shijo Station. This long-standing cafe is located a short distance down Takoyakushi-dori Street off of Karasuma-dori Street. The cafe's distinctive, retro building was originally a kimono fabric store. One of the cafe's draws is that smoking is allowed in all of the seats except for the non-smoking area. Particularly recommended is a cup of coffee made with a direct heat roaster, together with one of the cafe's homemade sweets. The cafe's seasonal pies, cakes, and mousses make for popular souvenirs. Also popular are the cafe's light meals such as its signature spaghetti Napolitan and old fashioned cheese toast.

We recently stopped by Maeda Coffee Honten on Takoyakushi St.. This was our second visit to this establishment in about 3 years. Last time we were there, we had a good experience. Their coffee was...

In addition, a snack menu is available, such as original jade rice cake, a cake set, and sandwiches etc. The drink menu is also extensive and can be chosen to go with the food.

We found this place by chance and it was a pleasant surprise. The ambience was very nice with Japanese garden view. The Japanese food set was very delicious and well presented, great service as well.

"A cafe and bar located on the first floor of the same building as WORLD KYOTO, a long standing Kyoto nightclub. Decorated in bright, primary colors, here customers can enjoy fresh cocktails and fruit juices. One item on the menu that people are particularly paying attention to is the ""eco-presso,"" espresso served in a cookie-based cup that you can eat. The inside of the cup is coated with icing that keeps the espresso from leaking out and also goes great with the bitter flavor of the beverage. A bar where you can take fun pictures, drink, and eat, the establishment is popular with men and women of all ages."

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
