"A five minute walk from Nishi-Kyogoku Station and the ""Senshoji"" and ""Nishikyogoku Ekimae"" bus stops. This large sports center is situated immediately south of Nishikyogoku Sports Park and is outfitted with a variety of competitive sport facilities such as an archery range and skating rink. The main pool can be used to host international swimming competitions and is open from May to September. Employing a moveable floor, the depth of the pool can be adjusted from zero meters to three meters and thus it can be used not just for swimming races but also synchronized swimming and water polo. Other facilities include a children's pool, sub pool, and diving pool."

"This water park is located on the northwestern side of Kameoka Sports Park right next to the ""Undo Koen-mae"" bus stop. Locals call it the ""Kame-pu."" The pool is generally open from early July to the end of August but exact dates vary year to year. In addition, hours are extended by an extra two hours only on certain Saturdays and Sundays. The water park has two 100 meter waterslides as well as a lazy river and a wave pool. There's also a toddler pool so even families with small children can have fun here."

Kyoto Areas

around-area-map

Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
