Meihan Seki Drive-In is a huge drivers' oasis located at the Seki Interchange on the Meihan Expressway, the trunk highway that links the sightseeing areas of Mie Prefecture with the Chubu and Kansai regions. On the first floor are Restaurant Sekitei, which serves meals featuring seasonal flavors and local cuisine; Seki Honjin, where diners can enjoy Japanese cuisine while looking out over a central garden, and an open kitchen-type food court, which travelers can eat not only standard dishes such as curry and ramen but also local specialties. The souvenir plaza sells famous local sweets from Kameyama, Matsusaka Beef Curry, and famous products of the Ise-Shima area. On the second floor is a dining area for tour groups, where group members can enjoy their meals in an atmosphere reminiscent of the 53 stations on the old Tokaido Road.

Mie Areas

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
