The vintage antique furniture and sundries both inside and outside the shop mixed with the affable cat sign that greets customers lends the place a retro feel. This Hawaiian cafe is about 15 minutes by car from Ugata Station. It's in a white building right beside Kou Beach that you can't miss. Take a step inside and you'll find a lively room with a Hawaiian sensibility. They serve loco moco, orange chicken, garlic shrimp, and more. Whatever you get will be colorful and come in large portions. Their Pancake Tropical Mango comes smothered in mango sauce, and their acai smoothies and tropical drinks are popular and make great photos. With the pleasant sea breeze coming through, you may feel you've stepped into the tropics.

  • Cafe Kuroneco

    Mie Pref. Shimashi Agochougata 1091-1
The elegant Cafe Kuroneco prices itself on its carefully made cuisine. It is located near Shindebashi Kitazume intersection in the direction of the city. Its charming white exterior makes it easy to spot. The interior walls are all covered in white wallpaper and decorated with fancy objets d'art, making customers feel as if they have entered some fantasy world. Its most popular menu items are light, fluffy pancakes and house-made custard puddings with cute illustrations on top. At lunchtime, the prix fixe meals offer generous servings of salad, rice, and soup. Public opinion deems the food here to be delicious as well.

This melon farm is situated on Prefectural Route 730 in Nanbari, Hamajima-cho, Shima City. The farm grew the Nanbari melons, a local specialty product, which were served at the 42nd G7 Summit in 2016. In the farm's cafe, you can enjoy fresh-cut melon and sweets made with melons.

Mie Areas

around-area-map

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
