This public space in the Shima Kanko Hotel was the site of the Iseshima Summit (42nd G7 Summit). It's located on a hill with a view of Ago Bay, features large beams and an atrium, and you can view the summit table that was actually used for working lunches. The hotel's Cafe & Wine Bar Lien serves desserts made with seasonal fruit and aromatic Ronnefeldt tea that you can enjoy while gazing at their garden. The afternoon tea set comes recommended. In the evening they serve wine and light fare that goes well with it. Their Teppanyaki Restaurant Yamabuki offers Iseshima seafood and Matsusaka beef cooked on a large grill, a feast for the eyes and palate.

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
