    A Buddhist temple located in Miyamado Arako-cho, Nakagawa Ward, Nagoya City. The temple's principal object of worship is a statue of Avalokitesvara which is only revealed once every 33 years. The two tier pagoda on the temple's grounds is the oldest wooden structure in Nagoya City and has been designated a National Important Cultural Property. The temple also possesses over 1,200 Enku Buddhas, wooden statues carved by the monk Enku, the greatest of any location in Japan.

    知ってる人には有名な荒子観音様があるお寺。 今はやりの徳川家康ゆかりのお寺のようです。 たまたま、節分の日に近くを通り、お祭りのようににぎわっていたので思わず寄ってみました。非常にラッキーで、この日は節分会。お参りの後、豆まきが行われていました。豆まきへの一般参加も可能で、４，５００円って書いてありました。若い女性なども参加されていましたよ。

    A Buddhist temple located in Kinoshitayashiki Nakamura-cho, Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City. The grounds of the temple are said to be located on the place where the mighty samurai lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi was born, and visitors can find a well said to be the place where Hideyoshi received his first bath as a baby as well as a holly olive tree said to have been planted by the lord. In addition, the Nagoya City Hideyoshi andKiyomasa Memorial Museum is located inside the adjoining Nakamura Park.

    中村公園駅から徒歩10分。中村公園に隣接。 1606年に加藤清正により創建された日蓮宗の寺院。本尊は大曼荼羅。本堂は鉄筋コンクリート造で瓦葺き。豊臣秀吉の生誕地とされており、境内には秀吉公御手植えの柊、秀吉の銅像などがある。

    This Buddhist temple is in Higashiyashiki, Sennonji, Tomida-cho, Nakagawa Ward, Naogya City. It was founded by Ensho, the 15th head priest of Hieizan Enryakuji Temple in 939. It enshrines a Three Faced Daikokuten image, with visages of the deities Daikokuten, Bishamonten, and Benzaiten.

    中村公園駅から徒歩10分。中村公園に隣接。 創建年不明。1294年に真言宗から日蓮宗に改宗。本尊は法華三法。本堂は木造瓦葺きで、向拝には金色の金属が用いられており華やかさと重厚さを感じさせる。加藤清正の生誕地とされ、境内には「清正公誕生之地」と彫られた石碑があり、清正の銅像も立てられている。

    下層が門に、そして上層に梵鐘をさげる堂になった立派で重厚感がある鐘楼門が目に付くお寺です。門から中への続く石畳になった通路も趣があります。街中にあるそれほど大きくないお寺ですが、徳川家とも所縁があるためか、歴史を感じさせます。

    １６３６年に僧利賢がここにあった地蔵堂を改めて建立したと伝わる浄土真宗大谷派の寺院です。現在の本堂は明治３０年に再建されたものですが、空襲の戦火から免れました。また、雅楽家として有名な羽塚秋楽は、この寺院の九世住職です。

    場所がらいつも門は閉ざされているので中の見学はできません。 歴史は古いみたいで昔から同じ場所にある地元に根付いたお寺です。
