Odo Hot Spring Hashimoto is a hot spring inn located in the mountains in Oku Mikawa, and it boasts excellent kaiseki cuisine made from local, seasonal ingredients. The water from the spring is radioactive (natural radon) and is believed to be effective against rheumatism, high blood pressure, and nerve pain. While the inn is a great place to stay overnight, day use of the baths is also allowed. There are two family baths, one indoors and one outdoors. Soaking in the outdoor bath in the spring when the cherry trees are in full bloom is especially recommended. The inn has a large parlor that can hold up to 150 people. Groups can arrange to have the inn send a shuttle bus out to take them to and from Aikan-Umetsubo Station.

Aichi Chita-gun Minamichitacho Shinojima Akaishi 48-9
A ryokan inn located on Shinojima Island floating off the Chita Peninsula a 10-minute high speed ferry ride from Morozaki Port. The inn takes pride in its conger eel and blowfish cuisine made with high quality ingredients from the island. In summer, customers can also enjoy daggertooth pike conger cuisine. The blowfish sashimi and deep fried blowfish are particularly popular and the blowfish hotpot in winter is also recommended. Another popular menu choice is the restaurant's signature conger eel sushi made with a whole conger eel. Inn guests can freely make use of the inn's private reservable Tokoname ware bath 24 hours a day.

Aichi Main Areas

around-area-map

Aichi is a prefecture of great natural beauty with Nagoya city at its heart, a busy hub home to a labyrinth of underground shops and the 17th-century Nagoya Castle. Castles are easy to find in this history-rich prefecture, but the highlight for history buffs has to be the Museum Meiji-mura, where preserved buildings from the turn of the 20th century are displayed in all their grandeur in an outdoor museum.
