    Shizuoka Pref. Kakegawashi Higashiyama
"A mountain with the altitude of 532 meters located in Higashiyama, Kakegawa City. At the top of the mountain, in addition to Awawa Shrine, there is a rest area, which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, including tea plantations, Mt. Fuji, and Suruga Bay. It is also known as the cherry blossom viewing spot, and a cherry blossom festival is held every spring at Awawa Shrine. In May 2019, ""the World Agricultural Heritage Tea Grass Field Terrace (nicknamed Kapposhi Terrace)"" opened at the top of the mountain; this cafe offers a menu including items using carefully selected local tea leaves, making it a place to relax and enjoy the scenery."

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
