This roadside station, where guests can relax while enjoying the blessings of Mt. Fuji, is very popular for the views of the mountain from its restaurant's terrace seats. The terrace is connected directly to a grassy space where visitors can enjoy Mt. Fuji at a scale not found anywhere else. Soaking in its foot baths while taking in the up-close view of Mt. Fuji is a great way for weary travelers to unwind. The station's FUJIYAMA BAZAAR, which is stocked with a huge selection of local souvenirs and specialties, and its Fujiyama Shokudo diner, which offers views of Mt. Fuji, are both well worth a visit.

This port is located in Suzukawa-cho, Fuji City. It is the port closest to World Heritage Mt. Fuji. There are various marine products brought to port here, but it's particularly well known for shirasu(young sardines). There are fishermans' cooperative food halls nearby that serve shirasu-don (shirasu on rice). There are events held here like the Shirasu Matsuri in June and the Shirasu Kaido Fair in October.

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
