Made fresh every day, their strawberry daifuku are popular for their sweet scent, great taste, and substantial volume. In addition to strawberry daifuku, the shop also offers a number of other daifuku made with fresh fruit such as melon and grape, which are seasonal exclusives. We recommend going early, as the shop closes up as soon as it runs out of inventory for the day.

This Japanese confectionary shop founded in 1945 was the first shop in the Nakaizu Onsenkyo hot spring village to sell onsen manju (hot spring steamed buns). The shop is located just next to the Fujidana bus stop on the Izuhakone Bus Nagaoka Onsenba Loop, about a six-minute bus ride from the Izu-Nagaoka Station on the Izuhakone Railway. Their onsen manju, which are made using carefully-selected ingredients and without any preservatives or food coloring, are notable for the smooth texture of their pastry covering and the pleasantly light flavor of their bean paste filling. All of the shop's products are made the day they are sold, so the shop closes as soon as it sells out.

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
