    This zoo in Suruga Ward, Shizuoka City is known as one of the leading zoos in the country with almost 700 animals covering 160 species. The pens have been built to resemble the animal's natural habitat and include a wide variety of facilities including the Penguin House, the Red Panda House, and the Wild Animal House where you can watch the animals from up close. The popular Flying Megadome and Petting Zoo also draw large crowds.

    I wish I could write a zero star revieq, because the experience was so horrible. Animals have barely any space to move, monkey cages are tiny, they barely had any space to move not to say run or jump...

Along with appreciating the pieces of art there is a cafe and a multi-purpose room almost the same size as the gallery. It is used for all variety of events. On rainy days you can get to the museum from Shizuoka Station without needing to get wet.

    Located near the site of Sumpu Castle, this park in Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City is currently well-known for its flowers. The park features a tea house, a grass square, and the Momijiyama Garden, notable for the autumn foliage of its trees. The park's Chinshoen garden features a statue of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu in his later years, as well as a mandarin orange tree said to have been planted by Ieyasu himself. Visitors to the park can enjoy cherry blossoms in the spring, red spider lily in the fall, and winter sweet and flowering plums in the winter.

The items from the permanent collection rotate throughout the year and the museum gives you the chance to physically experience famous belongings of the Tokugawa Shoguns.

    I have to be honest, I'm not really into Shogun history so I wasn't captivated by what I saw. My museum admission was included in our excursion so I went in. I don't think one would miss anything...

Their permanent collection includes not just works of art but a wide variety of exhibitions including excavated historical relics. They also hold workshops giving you the chance to create your own works of art.

    I really enjoyed my visit to the Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art. The sculpture park was a lovely stroll and the special exhibition that was on at the time I was there was very interesting...

Visitors can enjoy 30 minutes of all you can eat Akihime variety strawberry picking from January through the beginning of May. The shop on the premises sells freshly squeezed strawberry juice and soft ice cream, and other Shizuoka souvenirs, packaged strawberries and homemade jams.

The museum also has over 4500 artisanal works from around the world that he collected. The museum rotates the works on display three times a year. On Sundays and holidays when the museum is open, Serizawa Keisuke's residence moved from Tokyo, is open for public viewing
