    Shizuoka Omaezaki Omaezaki 1581
"The symbol of Omaezaki stands at the tip of the cape that divides Suruga Bay and the Sea of Enshu, and since 1874 (Meiji 7) when it was first lit, it has watched over the safety of the sea despite repeated earthquakes and strong winds. The lighthouse, which illuminates up to 36 km away, has been designated as a ""Grade A Preservation Lighthouse"" because of its cultural and historical value."

"Cape Irozaki is a cape at the southern end of the Izu Peninsula, in Minami-Izu Town, Kamo County. It features rugged coastal scenery jutting out into the Pacific Ocean. The extreme end of the cape has some of the most spectacular views in Minami-Izu, looking out towards Mikomoto Island, Yokone Island, and Ishitori Island, and the Irozaki Lighthouse has been included in the list of the ""Top 50 Most Beautiful Lighthouses in Japan."" Cape Irozaki also marks the boundary between the Pacific Ocean, to the east of the cape, and the Philippine Sea, to the west. The Iro Shrine, which is one of several geo-parks on the Izu Peninsula, can also be visited here."

The white Kadowakisaki lighthouse with observation deck is one of the sightseeing highlights of the popular Jogasaki Coast in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. With a total height of 24.9 meters, the first observation deck sits at 17 meters high and the second at four meters. As well as being a popular spot for photographs, on clear days it is also a fabulous scenic spot with views of the distant Izu Shichito Islands and the Amagi Mountains. The lighthouse is also situated right next door to the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge where you can experience the thrill of precipitous cliffs.

Shizuoka Areas

around-area-map

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
