Roadside StationYanaizu is located along Prefectural Route 1. It takes full advantage of its lovely natural setting along the Sakai River and provides a place for rest and relaxation. From its 8.712 meter height of the facility, the view takes in Mt. Kinka, Mt. Ontake, and Mt. Ibuki, along with the Sakai River and the water birds that live there. An outdoor sales area, based on the principle of local production and local consumption, sells high-quality and extremely popular Gifu strawberries. Other local products available at a reasonable price include fresh vegetables, black garlic, and specialty items grown by local farmers.

Gifu Areas

around-area-map

Tucked away in the very center of Japan, Gifu prefecture houses mountains, old towns, and one of Japan’s greatest hot springs, Gero Onsen. A tour of the prefecture’s traditional architecture will take you from the mountain-enveloped wooden streets of Takayama to the mountain village of Shirakawago, where visitors can explore 250-year-old thatched roofed houses known as gassho-zukuri.
