    A Japanese sweet shop close to Inuyama Castle and a 10-minute walk from Meitetsu Shin-Unuma Station and JR Unuma Station. They've been hand making uiro sweet rice jelly the traditional way since their founding in 1922. The rice flour and other ingredients are all domestically produced. They offer a number of varieties of the sweet, such as a simple white uiro made with rice and sugar, a stronger flavored dark uiro made with brown sugar, an azuki bean type with a slight scent of persimmon, and a yuzu citron variety with a refreshing citrus aftertaste. The shop was originally in Nagoya, but they changed their name in 2015 and reopened at their current location.

    "This candy shop is a 15-minute walk from Gifu Station. They have been making handmade candies with the same recipe since their founding. Their hallmark product is Nobunaga Aruheito, a famous Gifu confectionary that has received the Prime Minister's Award. It's a reproduction of aruheito, a kind of candy that was introduced from the southern islands during the Warring States Period. These candies feature more sugar than usual varieties. They come in three flavors: ""Pure Sugar"" made simply with sugar and starch and without added flavors, ""Hakka"" with a subtle flavor and addictive aftertaste, and ""Brown Sugar"" made with high grade Okinawan brown sugar that's packed with minerals."

    Yubayu Shoten is a shop specializing in yuba (tofu skin), located about a six-minute walk from Kinkabashi Bridge in the city of Gifu. Founded in 1867, it is a venerable shop that manufactures and sells fresh yuba and dried yuba. Its yuba is made from subsoil water from the Nagaragawa River and from 100% carefully selected, domestically produced soybeans. It is known for its texture and body and is used by many restaurants all over Japan. The shop sells the highest grade of yuba, Kumiage Yuba, as well as Sashimi Yuba, and many customers swear by its thickly rich flavor and the way it goes down. All products are well worth trying.

    Located an 11-minute walk from JR and Meitetsu Railways’ Gifu Station, this popular Japanese sweets store makes products utilizing the deliciousness of the ingredients for an amazing result. Their popular product is “hon-warabi mochi” (brack starch cakes covered in sweet soybean powder), which is fluffy and melts in your mouth, and is covered with lots of fragrantly roasted soybean powder. Please note that although this branch opens at 9:00, only this product is sold from 11:00. In addition, the store is also lined with seasonal sweets and items only available there, such as the Daichi no Oyatsu series, mochidora (chewy red bean pancakes sandwiching red bean paste), kusamochi (pounded rice cakes with Japanese mugwort) and kuzupurin (kudzu starch pudding).

    長良橋通りに移転後初の訪問、ツバメわらびと大地のどらやきを購入。 平日の11時頃でしたが、まったく行列なしで直ぐに購入出来ました。 わらび餅はとろとろプルンでたまりません、どら焼きはしっとりとた皮と食べ応えのある小倉餡で飽きの来ない味です。

    This bagel shop is located in front of Kakamigahara City Hall. A blue sky that brings to mind the airplane used in the shop’s logo is drawn onto the ceiling of the white interior. Cherishing natural flavors, they offer safe and delicious bagels that use no oil, milk or eggs, and use Gifu-grown wheat and Shirakami Kodama yeast. A popular item in the shop is their assortment of 12 bagels, which they pack with mainly slightly sweet and easy-to-eat bagels. It is open from 11:00 to 18:00 or until their goods are sold out.

    全国発送もしているそうですが、知る人ぞ知る隠れた名店なので、目の前にある市役所の職員さんのランチタイムには争奪戦らしく^^;;、売り切れごめん的なところもあるので、開店同時を狙った方がいいかも?

    This long-established Japanese confectionary shop was founded in 1830, and is located in Imako-machi, Gifu City. They provide a traditional taste that has been guarded since it opened with the motto of things that do not change and should continue to be protected. Their specialty “Yuki Taruma” and “Miyakodori” are meringue confectionery using only select caster sugar and fresh egg whites since they were first sold in 1886. The white birds are cute, and the candy breaks apart easily and melts in your mouth. In addition, famous confectionery with elegant tastes such as the “kagariyaki ayu,” which is made in the shape of the beautiful sweetfish in the Nagara River and use mainly egg yolks, that you can purchase there are highly recommended as souvenirs.

    This Japanese sweet shop founded in 1912 is a 10-minute walk from JR Gifu Station. Their Kurikomochi treats covered with chestnut powder is said to be the ultimate in Japanese confectionery. Artisans meticulously prepare them with only carefully selected domestic chestnuts. Adding the absolute minimum amount of sweetener, they leave the mochi rice cake itself unsweetened, letting the unadulterated flavor of the chestnuts shine through. Besides Japanese sweets like kuri-kinton (mashed sweet chestnuts) and strawberry daifuku (mochi rice balls with sweet filling) and strawberry custard daifuku during strawberry season, they also offer Western confections like roll cake, marble cake, baumkuchen, pie cake, and more.

    名鉄岐阜駅前を通る長良橋通沿いにあります。大正時代から続いているお店とのこと。優しい表情の店主が応対してくれ、ほっこりします。大きなガラス張りで外からも店内がよく見えます。岐阜は栗きんとんが有名ですが、こちらでは栗粉餅という名前の通り、お餅を栗粉で包んだもので、甘過ぎず、栗きんとんとは違った美味しさをいただきます。当日中しかもたないのも魅力です。

Originally, they pressed rapeseed oil, but after the facility was destroyed in air raids, they became wholesalers, making use of their previous experience. Now they primarily offer karinto fried dough cakes, shortbread, and biscuits. They also produce the Daichi-no-Oyatsu line of sweets in collaboration with the Japanese confectionery artisan Machino Kimihide, also known as “Macchin. They use their know-how and passion as oil wholesalers to make sweets that feel safe and familiar as the decades roll by.

Nagara Tatin crafts unique Gifu sweets perfect for giving as gifts made with select ingredients such as honey from Gifu and Sakura eggs. The shop’s “Kanaderu Tsumiki” has been featured on TV—consisting of 15 different small cake cubes placed in colorful boxes resembling toy wood blocks, this cute sweets assortment is both the establishment’s signature product and its most popular. Customers can also enjoy the establishment’s in-house baked breads in the on-site café space.

    This stylish shop that looks like an art museum is about five minutes by car from Meitetsu Kakamigahara Line's Hosobata Station. Their showcase is filled with items like cake, baked sweets, ice cream, and bread. Among their 30 kinds of sliced cake, only six are their standard varieties. The rest are all seasonal specials. These include their Shimanto River Mont Blanc made with Kochi Prefecture chestnuts, Edamame Tart made with local Gifu Prefecture edamame beans, and their Marugoto Momo made with an entire peach. You'll be able to try something new in every season.

    お値段の割にクオリティーが高いと思います。焼き菓子や和菓子はだいたい何を買っても美味しいですが、生ケーキはやはり値段相応な感じ。子供にはいいかも!
