    This cafe opened in 1969 and is located on Shinmachi-dori Street in the center of Gujo Hachiman, Gifu Prefecture. The antique furnishings and walls with tile and plaster create a unique atmosphere. They specially-select raw beans, and provide multiple kinds of coffee roasted in-house with Gujo’s famous water. Some of their popular items include the “moca pair” with coffee jelly and ice cream topped with lots of chocolate sauce and heavy cream, the filling strawberry parfait available only during certain seasons, and “matcha anmitsu” (syrup-covered bean paste and fruit) with melty matcha green tea powder. In addition, their hayashi rice (hashed beef rice) and curry with Hida beef that is prepared for a week are highly recommended.

    In a small town like Gujo Hachiman, finding morning coffee outside of your hotel or local ryokan (inn) can be a difficult challenge. There are no readily accessible 7-11s or Family Marts in town...

    Sabo Tomiya is a Japanese-style café run by the venerable Japanese-style confectionary Tomiya and housed in a remodeled old farmhouse that dates from the end of the Edo Period (1615-1868). One of their recommended menu items is Cream Shiratama Zenzai, made from perfectly simmered azuki beans, fluffy and chewy handmade rice dumplings, and ice cream. In the summer, Sabo Tomiya serves a popular Warabi Kori, made of bracken mochi dusted with fragrant roasted soy flour, on a base of dark brown sugar over shaved ice with sweetened adzuki beans hidden inside, all the ingredients blending in perfect harmony. Other traditional Japanese confections are also available to purchase, and Tomiya’s unique Cream Warabi Daifuku make an excellent souvenir.

    A café and cake shop located in the Town of Udatsu Roofing sprawling northwest of Nagaragawa Railway Minoshi Station. Operating out of an old-fashioned townhome, the shop still retains its classic townhome exterior, including a huge sign on the second story from when the building operated as a greengrocer. The establishment’s most popular confection is the “Momodama”, a juicy sweet consisting of a skinned and pitted peach filled with custard and covered with a framboise sauce. The establishment also offers a variety of other popular, not overly sweet confections which maximize the flavors of the ingredients used to make them, including custards and cakes topped with an abundance of fresh fruit.

    A café operating out of the central room of a residence which once belonged to the Saito family in Gujo City which has been designated a Cultural Property. Like the surrounding Saito Museum, works of art collected by the family over generations are displayed in the café, and, in addition to the building itself and the scenery provided by the inner garden, visitors can take in the unique charms of Japan. The matcha powdered green tea used to create the café’s beverages is ordered from Ippodo Tea in Kyoto, a company established in 1717. Customers can also enjoy fresh Japanese sweets and soybean snacks with their drink. Other menu selections include anmitsu sweet beans and fruit in syrup, zenzai sweet adzuki bean soup, and warabimochi bracken starch dumplings. The café also sells Japanese items perfect for taking home as a souvenir like incense and nioibukuro scent bags.

    名古屋発の名店喫茶。このあたりはあまり広いカフェがありませんが、ここは駐車場が広いので入りやすいです。結構土日は混んでいますが、少しお茶するのに便利です。

    大通りにあると思っていたら中に一本入った所にありました。 新しく出来た集合施設の一角でした。 おススメの復活エスプレッソアフォガードフラッペチーノTallで注文、味はエスプレッソがキリッときいていて甘さを抑えていて非常に私好みで美味しかったです。 ただ後から熱々エスプレッソを入れるからかフラッペチーノのシャリシャリ感が無くなってしまっていたのは残念でした。 でもまた頼みます。

    全国均一の店舗で安心できる。 空間としては若干臨席との距離が近いが、特に問題になるような狭さではない。 コーヒーは定番の味で、好きな部類に入るし、安価で良い。 待ち合わせや時間調整には最適。 駐車場は充分に確保されている。

    They make excellent donuts from potato. Locally made jam and other sweets are also excellent. You can enjoy tea or coffee here as well.

    豆腐ランチです。やさしい味でした。前菜とメインにコーヒーが着いてきます。メインと言っても厚揚げですが、外はさくっとして美味しいです。コーヒーはラテアートを選ぶと、お店のの方が座っているテーブルで作ってくれます。お店の雰囲気も、カフェぽくオシャレです。
