    Roadside Station Obaachan-Ichi Yamaoka is located in the city of Ena in Gifu Prefecture, and customers who go there are greeted with warm smiles and treated with such kindness that they will feel as if they have returned to their hometown. As its name, which means “Grandma's Market, implies fresh vegetables lovingly raised by older women are sold here, along with Hosokanten (agar gelatin) that the town of Yamaoka is famous for. Other attractions at this tourism spot include Japan's largest water wheel, 24 meters in diameter, the cozy restaurant Miharashi Chaya, the golden “Happiness Bell, which represents longings for encounters, marriage, and long life; and many seasonal events.

    We liked stopping here on the way to Iwamura. The views of the area were pretty, the demonstration wheel is huge and the adjoining shop has local produce and specialties for sale at very reasonable...

    To reach Roadside Station Kokindenju no Sato Yamato, travelers should take National Route 156 and Prefectural Route 317 about three kilometers from the Gifu Yamato Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway. This roadside station combines many kinds of facilities in one place, including a free footbath, a morning farmers’ market, and a restaurant that serves local cuisine, and an ice cream and yogurt specialty shop. Customers can enjoy local dishes at reasonable prices, such as Salt-Broiled Sweetfish and Wild Yams, and on the 20th of each month, Kei-chan, or local chicken cooked in a traditional style, is served. All the buildings, including the retail stores that sell local products and the restaurants that serve local cuisine, are named after a collection of ancient and modern Japanese poetry, Kokinshu, and there is even a hot spring bathing facility built in a Neo-Japanese architectural style.

    We visited the foot onsen and restaurants here twice. The restaurant in the back has delicious drinks and a wood stove.

    Roadside Station Tsukimi no Sato Nanno is located along National Route 258 in the foothills of the Yoro Mountain Range. It is the largest roadside station in the prefecture, and it boasts a location that offers a view of the entire Mino Plain. It has a full range of facilities, including shops that sell local souvenirs and agricultural products, a restaurant that serves light meals, and a footbath fed by the hot spring that feeds Nanno Onsen. The reasonably priced light breakfast served in the Tsukimi Chaya is available even on weekends and holidays, and the exact ingredients vary with the season. At the drink station, visitors can taste Croquette Burgers made with the Hida beef. This roadside station has been featured on live radio broadcasts.

    Roadside Station Skydome Kamioka is about 60 minutes from the center of the city of Takayama via National Routes 41 and 42. The retail shop was remodeled in 2018, and it began selling new lines of merchandise, including some from the Institute for Cosmic Ray Research, University of Tokyo. There is also a wide selection of souvenirs from the Hida region available from spring to autumn, including folk crafts and fresh local vegetables, all of which will delight family members and co-workers. The restaurant serves Tempura Manju (deep-fried buns), a dish for which Hida Kamioka is famous, Hida Chuka Soba and other noodle dishes, and the popular Hida Miso Cutlet set meal.

    Since scientific information on display but all in Japanese. Nevertheless a good place to eat before going to gattan go as had to wait for about forty five minutes before we were going to ride

    A roadside station near the Takayama Nishi Interchange on the Chubu Jukan Expressway. It has a restaurant that serves delicious local Hida cuisine, a farmer's market with vegetables picked fresh that morning, and an area that offers casual Hida fare. The Ajisai Nanamori restaurant has a popular Hida beef diced steak meal set with carefully selected Hida beef steak cut into bite-size pieces. It lets guests enjoy the inherent savoriness of the meat. Other meals include their classic Japanese barbecue meal set with Hida beef and a Japanese style meal set with Hida beef and miso and onion grilled on a magnolia leaf.

    We stayed here one night on the outskirts of Takayama. Good location for Takayama. Good farmers market and Onsen

    Roadside Station Hoshi no Furusato Fujihashi is located along National Route 303, downstream from the Yokoyama Dam. It is located in the Fujihashi District, which is one of Japan’s many famous spots for star gazing, and in the evening, visitors can see the expanse of a star-filled sky. There are two restaurants on the premises: Hoshi no Furusato Restaurant, where the recommended menu item is Shiitake Mushroom Croquettes, and Sobadokoro Fujihashi-an, where the specialty is Tenzaru Soba, cold noodles, made with 20% wheat and 80% buckwheat flour, and tempura with dipping sauce, along with other menu items that make use of famous local ingredients. Another attraction is the Ibigawa River Hot Spring, Fujihashi no Yu, which includes Fujihashi outdoor hot spring bath, whose waters are said to have all kinds of benefits.

    お土産売り場が大き目で、地元の野菜や名産品などを幅広く取り揃えてます。レストランを併設。ダムカレーも置いていますよ。二八そばという美味しいお蕎麦屋さんも敷地内にあります。また、温泉施設もあって、入場料は540円。JAFの会員証提示で440円になります。露天風呂はさほど広くないものの、この値段でこの質なら満足です。

    Roadside Station Clair Hirata is located on the embankment of the Nagaragawa River. On weekends only, it serves foods made with the mugwort that Hirata-cho in the city of Kaizu is famous for, including mugwort rolled cake, mugwort soba noodles, and mugwort soft-serve ice cream. In addition, the store sells locally processed goods and fresh vegetables at reasonable prices that have been picked the same morning. The store is always crowded with customers, who want to buy such things as the Clair Four Season Box Lunch, Japanese Broiled Catfish with Sweet Soy Sauce, and Oguri Roman Cider, made with the first local strawberries of the season.

    Roadside Station Mugegawa is located in the flood plain of the Mugigawa River, a tributary of the Nagaragawa River, just five minutes from the Sekihiromi Interchange on the Tokai Kanjo Expressway. Fresh vegetables grown in the area, the Tsurumurasaki Udon noodles that the Mugegawa River area is noted for, and other special local products are available for purchase. The restaurant area features menu items based on local products, such as the Mugegawa Bento (boxed lunch), handmade soba noodles, and Tsurumurasaki Udon noodles, as well as a light breakfast. Everyone is welcome to stop off here and relax for a while.

    To reach Roadside Station Soba no Sato Rassei Misato, motorists should take Prefectural Route 66 southwest from the Ena Interchange for 10 minutes, where they will find the roadside station at the intersection with National Route 418, with a view of massive mountains. There is a shop that directly sells locally grown vegetables and fruits that have been picked the same morning after being carefully raised by the growers, who are proud of the freshness and rich flavors of their products. The souvenir sales area offers popular Oni Manju, Gohei Mochi and other foods typical of the region. The restaurant Rasseian serves dishes such as Tenzaru Soba (cold noodles with dipping sauce and a side of tempura), Kamo (duck) Soba set meal, and wide variety of other soba dishes. Visitors who make reservations ahead of time can try making their own soba noodles.

    Roadside Station Meiho is located 19 minutes from the Gujo-Hachiman Interchange along the Hida-Mino Seseragi Highway. It is adjacent to Surusumi no Sato Park, so that visitors can enjoy beautiful views of mountain scenery in all four seasons, including cherry blossoms and peach blossoms in the spring, fresh greenery and the Yoshidagawa River in the summer, and brilliantly colored leaves in the fall. Inside the park are a local products center as well as several kinds of eating and drinking establishments. Special local products from throughout the prefecture are available to purchase as souvenirs, including Meiho ham and tomato ketchup. There is no charge for admission to the Surusumi-an, a building that serves as a rest area and contains a hearth fire that has burned continuously for 800 years, and visitors can enjoy brook trout or freshwater salmon grilled over that fire as they view the scenery of Surusumi no Sato Park.

    仕事の途中で寄りました。以前より気になっていました。お盆に道の駅明宝に行った時は猛暑。1ヶ月もしないうちに涼しくなりました。台風13号が通過した後だった為集中豪雨に。ちょうど雨宿りがわりに入って美味しいものにもありつけました。けいちゃん定食を迷わずにオーダー。卓上一口コンロでアツアツが食べられました。おすすめです。JAF会員の方は5%OFFの特典もあります。

    Roadside Station Kirira Sakashita is located only a six-minute walk from JR Sakashita Station on the Chuo Line, It stands on the right bank of the Kiso River, surrounded by mountains that change color throughout the four seasons. The name “Kirara is a compound of “Kiso, “river, and “right side. Inside the facility is an area where visitors can try making their own soba noodles under the guidance of an instructor according to traditional methods, using flour made from high-quality buckwheat grown on the grounds and learning how delicious handmade soba is. They can also practice making such local sweets as Gorin Manju and Kuri Kinton (a dish made with chestnuts and yams) in a lively and playful atmosphere.

    蕎麦打ち体験をして出来たての蕎麦も食べれる道の駅です。時間があれば、併設している地元スーパーマーケットで買い物も楽しめれます。

The restaurant is unusual in featuring dishes made with ostrich meat, including ostrich roasted on a ceramic grill or the ostrich hamburger meal. In addition to enjoying delicious, low-fat, low-calorie ostrich meat, visitors can enjoy other flavors typical of the Sakauchi area, including sweet-sour, potassium-rich passion fruit.

    寄ってみるとかなり田舎臭い感じがしました。 このエリアを走っていて、コンビニなどは一切ないので、トイレ休憩の施設としては重要です。

In addition to a restaurant and a free foot bath, Ikeda Onsen, well known for having a beautifying effect on one’s skin, is a popular attraction. The onsen prides itself on the slippery texture of the water from the natural hot springs. It is recommended that visitors come here to refresh themselves after hiking around Mt. Ontake or Mt. Gifu Kinkazan, and other areas in the lush, green foothills. They hope the station is considered as the center of the town of Ikeda, where they can interact with large numbers of people.

It is situated in a lush natural setting in the clear upper reaches of the Nagaragawa River. All types of information about Gujo is available. Syunsai Ichiba, a market where local farmers sell the agricultural products they have harvested and freshly picked wild plants, is held every morning. Visitors who reserve two days in advance can enjoy the Gottso Box Lunch, made from local ingredients and ideal for taking along on one’s travels. In addition to souvenirs from nearby communities, molokhiya-flavored soft ice cream and the chicken dish Abarenbo Kei-chan are available.

    郡上から南下した国道沿いの道の駅。野菜が安いのと、それなりにお土産も売っています。残念ながらクレカ、電子マネーに対応していません。

In this park, surrounded by the culture of the Hakusan region and the Nagaragawa River, visitors will find historic sightseeing attractions, along with places to enjoy activities such as miniature golf or tennis. The main building contains all kinds of regional souvenirs, such as Gujo miso, sweetfish simmered in sweet sauce, as well as locally brewed sake and local crafts. The morning farmers’ market sells fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as Umeboshi (dried plums) made with locally produced plums and Kei-chan, the special local variety of chicken. One of the local Gujo varieties of sake, Genbun 2015, won several prizes in a sake competition.

    裏には長良川が流れとても環境の良い道の駅です。あゆパークを併設し、道の駅としてのお土産屋や野菜等の直販も勿論あります。ドライブの小休止に最適です。

    Roadside Station Cha no Sato Higashi-Shirakawa is in a beautiful natural setting in the village of Higashi Shirakawa, Kamo Country, the area where the famous Shirakawa tea is grown. There is a plant on the premises where the richly fragrant and deeply flavorful tea, grown in the harsh local climate, is processed and sold to the public. Inside the main building, visitors can buy fresh tea leaves picked in the village and enjoy regional cuisine made with local vegetables, as well as the Tsuchi no Ko Yaki (snake-shaped cakes) that the village is famous for. Visitors can go to the neighboring tourist farm and pick blueberries during the summer, try ayu (sweetfish) fishing in the river, or experience nature in other ways.

    白川茶の故郷らしく、店内にはお茶のコーナーが充実しています。産直野菜の店舗やレストランもあり便利です。また白川茶のソフトクリームも美味しかった。

    This roadside station on the side of National Route 41 is located a 15-minute drive from JR Kuguno Station. A red turret (Jomon Symbol Tower) serves as a landmark for the station, which has as the dual themes of “Jomon” and “Harvest.” Its buildings, designed to look like Jomon pit houses, house a bakery that offers fresh-baked bread, a gelato shop, and a fruit juice factory. The station’s restaurant is popular for local flavors such as their healthy Jomon udon noodles and their ayumeshi (sweetfish rice), a winter exclusive made with wild-caught sweetfish. The farmer’s market is stocked with fresh, locally-harvested fruits and vegetables. Their winter-only apple pie is also popular.

    下呂温泉から高山へ向かう道中「道の駅 飛騨街道なぎさ」でトイレ休憩とお昼ご飯で立ち寄りました。なかなかに大きい道の駅です。駐車場も広い。施設も充実です。お土産屋さんも充実しています。「さるぼぼ」おいてました。横に川も流れておりレストランからは眺めることもできます。

It has a sales corner for local products, including fresh, safe vegetables raised by local farmers, prepared dishes that taste like old-fashioned home cooking, processed foods, and other products. Recommended dishes at the restaurant on the premises include Mino Healthy Pork, made with meat brined in miso containing the remnants of rice used in brewing sake, and Mino Healthy Pork Roast, 130 grams of meat basted with miso before roasting. The Tomika Wakka Pan Bakery provides different varieties of bread every day, and the roadside station has an outdoor gathering space that is used for all kinds of social events.

    Roadside Station Pascal Kiyomi is located almost exactly halfway along National Route 472, “the Seseragi Highway,” which links the cities of Takayama and Gujo. Travelers can visit a tourist farm and fruit orchard or field of lavender, coming into contact with the natural wonders and gorgeous scenery of Hida in all four seasons. This roadside station also actively promotes local products, such as Hida beef, to promote the region itself, and it maintains an information corner and souvenir shop. It puts effort into serving and selling the type of locally produced meals and souvenirs that one expects of the Hida region. In the winter, it serves as the entryway to the Meiho Ski Area, and in the summer, its attractions include fishing and water sports in the Mazegawa River, which flows through the property.
