The Mt. Kinka Ropeway is an aerial lift system in Gifu City that runs from the bottom of Mt. Kinka to the summit; the journey takes about four minutes. During the journey, passengers can view the natural beauty of Mt. Kinka (the slopes of which are covered with old-growth forest) and the Nagara River, as well as the streets of Gifu City. At the summit, there is the Mt. Kinka Squirrel Village, shops, and a restaurant with a scenic view (the restaurant’s beer garden is open in the summer months). A return ticket for the Mt. Kinka Ropeway costs 1,080 yen for adults, 540 yen for children.

We visited the Gifu Park, Museum and then took the Ropeway up Mt. Kinka to visit the famous castle. Inclined at 25 deg one hardly felt stress as it traverse at 3.6m/sec and brings up within 5mins. We...

The “Forest Product Store” sells “bear oil,” “bear power drinks,” stuffed animals, and other bear-themed merchandise.

Ena Gorge Cruise, which offers a choice of high-speed jet boats or traditional covered barges, takes passengers on a round trip to Shinanoji (“Three Squares”) Rock, the point at which the Tsukechi River flows into the Kiso River. Passengers can see rock formations looming over them on either side of the riverbank, including Battleship Rock, Lion Rock, Screen Rock, Three Squares Rock, and other oddly shaped rocks and stones, and watch migratory birds fly overhead. The embarkation point for these cruises is located about 10 minutes by car from the Ena Interchange on the Chuo Expressway.

"A farm located at the northern end of ""Maze, Gero City, a Village of Greenery and Clear Streams."" It was recognized as an official ""Beautiful Village"" in 2007 by the Association of The Most Beautiful Villages in Japan. They are committed to growing safe, delicious, pesticide-free blueberries and wasabi using organic fertilizer. Located in a cool region at an altitude of 688 meters, the large day and night temperature difference leads to a balance of sweet and sour flavors. You can eat the fruit on the spot where it was picked, but it may taste even better chilled and eaten beside the adjacent stream."

    今年も美味しい無農薬ブルーベリーいただきました。農園は第1から第4まであり小さい子供達も広々と楽しめます。お弁当を持ってすぐ下の川に降りれば、木陰もあり川遊びも満喫できますよ♪

You can enjoy picking and tasting blueberries and strawberries in Tsuzuhara with its idyllic village landscape. There are various kinds of blueberries that can be enjoyed with mid-July to late August such as Tifblue, Homebell, Woodard and rabbiteye. Many people say that the sweet and sour taste is addictive. From December to May, ""Akihime,"" with little sourness, is cultivated in a spacious 2,500 square meter plastic house. There is no soil due to highland cultivation, and the barrier-free passageway can be easily used by wheelchairs and strollers."

This shiitake mushroom farm is dedicated to traditional cultivation using logs. They forgo more efficient mushroom bed cultivation in favor of growing on timber, which requires hard work and is sensitive to environmental influences. They rely on the gradual decomposition of hardwoods such as nara and kunugi oak, resulting in delectable, fragrant shiitake with a nice, soft texture. You can pick-your-own shiitake mushrooms there if you make reservations at least a day in advance.

"This craft museum is where you can experience the traditional craft of ""Yukizarashi Sanchu Japanese paper"" in Kawai-cho, Hida City. You can enjoy experiences including papermaking and vegetable dyeing. Sanchu Japanese paper is made by exposing and bleaching ""kozo,"" the raw ingredient for Japanese paper, with snow for a characteristically light and natural color. Called ""Kozo no Yukizarashi,"" it is a traditional technique that has been handed down for close to 800 years in the area. Although it has been handed down as a farmer's winter work, the number of producers has decreased dramatically in recent years. In addition, it is possible to observe the work process by the craftsmen and the actual making of Japanese paper."
