In addition to heartwarming figurines, accessories, masks and incense containers, hand drawn pictures on Sanchu washi in Kawai City depicting the owls are popular. The pictures are available in seven sizes, and can be found on a variety of products like bookmarks and colored paper. A signboard of a lucky cat made with a single plate of hinoki cypress is the store's landmark."

    This variety shop in the Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings of Sanmachi has a large bird cage as a landmark. The expansive shop is packed with items depicting living things like animals and birds. Ranging from accessories you might buy on a whim to fancy items for your home, time flies just looking each item over. Their frog figurines in human poses are popular. They also have a gallery and a cafe area in an old warehouse that’s great for a break with some sweets.

    This accessories shop centered on rabbit goods is located in the middle of the Hida Takayama townscape. While purchasing various products themed on rabbits, regardless of the material or purpose, the red bunny doll called Ubobo that was invented by the shop owner is a Takayama specialty that can only be bought here. Creating them with hopes for easy childbirth and to invite happiness, the shop offers netsuke (miniature carved Japanese ornament), oil blotting paper and other items besides Ubobo dolls. Their original products, such as a towel handkerchief called Usami and a collagen face wash towel, are extremely popular as souvenirs. In addition, they also hold regular storehouse exhibitions.

When you enter the shop with a charming exterior, you will find many accessories and kofu (traditional Japanese textile fabrics side by side. They carry cute miscellaneous goods that remake kofu and kimono from the Edo period (1603-1868) to the early Showa period (1926-1989). The handmade dolls with rabbit motifs are very charming as well. Besides accessories and kofu fabric scraps sold at affordable prices as souvenirs, you can also enjoy the beauty of kofu that can be seen after many years even in artworks using Edo chirimen (crepe silk).
