This ski resort is in Fujimi Fujimi Town. Besides winter sports there are many activities that showcase Mt. Nyukasa’s natural seasonal scenery. You can enjoy trekking and mountainbike riding in spring and summer and in autumn you can go on one of the many gondola rides and see the scenery illuminated by the Mt. Yatsutagake sunrise; options include the “premium sea of clouds gondola” “fall foliage gondola” and “night gondola” rides. In addition because the ski slopes make a heart shape when viewed from the Yatsutagake observation platform onsite the area is known as a sacred lovers’ spot.

A Buddhist temple located in Shimosuwa Town. This famous Rinzai Zen temple was founded over 700 years ago and, because Takeda Shingen helped restore it at a time when the temple was in decline, the caltrap family crest of the Takeda clan is used as the temple crest. The cedars lining the approach to the shrine have been allowed to grow quite large, unlike most temples, and are handsomely maintained. The temple's Japanese garden, which encompasses a rock garden and circular strolling garden around a central pond, achieved its current form in 1897. A sacred Katsura tree over 450 years old grows in the front garden. The main temple and main temple gate were built in the late Edo period and have been designated Cultural Properties by the town. This memorial hall is on the Nakasendo Road in Shimosuwa Town, Suwa County. Along with exhibitions of music boxes made in Japan and abroad, it also has a studio where you can try making a music box, as well as a concert hall where you can take in a live performance featuring a blend of images and the tunes of antique music box. There is an open terrace cafe and a boutique that sells music boxes too.

This local museum is in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. It displays documents and historical records concerning the Moriya clan, high ranking Shinto priests at Suwa Taisha Kamisha Shrine starting in the Middle Ages. Its ancient documents provide a record of Nagano long ago and a valuable picture of the period. It has both planned exhibits and a permanent exhibit with ancient documents that have been designated as Prefectural Treasures and Chino City Cultural Property.

Nagano Suwa-gun Shimosuwamachi

One of nine public bathhouses located in Shimosuwa Onsen. The waters of the bathhouse' sulfate spring and chloride spring are said to treat such ailments as burns, nerve pain, and cuts. Legend has it that the bathhouse was built in the Kamakura period for an ascetic monk visiting the Jiunji Temple. The bathhouse has three tubs which are overall on the hot side, the hottest being 47°C. Accordingly, bathers are recommended to acclimate their bodies by first bathing in the relatively lukewarm waters of the outdoor bath. The bathhouse does not offer free shampoo, conditioner, or soap, etc., but these items can be purchased at the attendant's booth. You can also buy bath towels here, so there's no need to worry if you forget your own.

"This day-use hot spring bathhouse is part of ""Shinshu Tsutakijuku"" Roadside Station on National Route 20 about six minutes from Kobuchizawa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. The baths are fed from the source with a sodium-calcium sulfate chloride hot spring that's said to be good for nerve pain and chronic digestive diseases. The break room can accommodate roughly 100 people. You can bring food in with you. So stop by the farm stand next door for some fruit. The post-bath chiropractic service is also popular, and lots of long-distance truck drivers stop in for it."

のんびり入ってしまい、湯あたりになってしまいました。掃除してた係りの方、常連のお客さんにお世話になりました。湯あたりするくらい、いいお湯です。

This art museum, standing amidst the lush natural beauty on the bank of Lake Suwa, was opened on April 26, 1990 by industrial robot manufacturer Harmo's founder Tomio Hama and director Takako Seki. The museum's standing exhibition consists of works of Naive art which express a free sensitivity from a pure perspective, including nine rare pieces by Henri Rousseau. The museum has gained worldwide recognition for its distinctive concept. The museum also has a cafe where you can take a relaxing break and, on clear days, see all the way to Mt. Fuji.

This museum's diverse collection of over 600 pieces primarily focuses on ancient eastern art, particularly tea implements; as well as early modern Western paintings. The Fujisan tea bowl, a National Treasure which records state master potter Hon'ami Koetsu gave to his daughter when she was going to be married, is put on display several times a year. In addition to its exhibitions, the museum has a shop and tearoom, and visitors can take a relaxing break and enjoy the local scenery after viewing the museum's artworks.

This day-use hot spring bathhouse is located in a villa district in Hara Village a 10-minute drive from the Suwa-minami Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. Here customers can enjoy a still rock outdoor bath surrounded by natural beauty. The waters of the bathhouse' sodium-sulfate chloride spring are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, muscle soreness, and joint pain and have been certified by Nagano Prefecture. The bathhouse is also replete with high-ceilinged men's and women's bathing areas with saunas, a refreshment room, and large rest lounge. There are also sports and exercise facilities, and customers are encouraged to work up a sweat before bathing. The bathhouse is adjoined by the Mominokiso hotel.

村外者は入浴料６５０円の日帰り温泉施設です。夏休みのため家族連れが多く訪れていました。浴室には温泉浴槽、サウナ、水風呂があり、外にはかけ流しの露天風呂があります。露天は茶色みの少し濁った湯で４１度ほどの湯温で気持ち良かったです。

This Nissan Skyline museum is in Toriidaira Yamabiko Park in Okaya City, Nagano Prefecture. It has exhibits on the automobile maker's Skyline model, including various parts. A public bathhouse located a five-minute walk from Shimo-Suwa Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. Located at the far end of an arcade, the bathhouse' quiet, retro atmosphere is reminiscent of an old-fashioned sento bathhouse. The waters of the hot spring used to fill the baths are said to treat such ailments as hardening of the arteries, cuts, burns, and chronic skin diseases, and customers can enjoy a relaxing soak in an elliptical shaped tub. The bathhouse' baths are also on the lukewarm side compared with the other public bathhouses in Shimosuwa Onsen, making this a great place for first-time hot spring bathers. Free municipal parking can be found nearby.

地元の方が利用するレトロな温泉銭湯です。入浴料は２４０円で券売機で購入し番台へ渡し入場。浴室の小判型浴槽にはかけ流しの新鮮な透明湯が注入されていす。湯温は４５度弱でかなり熱めの温泉です。久しぶりの再訪でしたが相変わらず体にジーンと染みわたるイイ湯でした。

"A 20-minute drive from JR Chino Station traveling towards Lake Tateshina via the Venus Line. This day trip hot spring bathhouse standing amidst the forest of Tateshina carries a retro Showa atmosphere. The bathhouse has five outdoor baths, including one with a spectacular view of Lake Tateshina directly below and the distant Southern Japan Alps on clear days, and a woman-only bath enshrouded by forest; there are also separate men's and women's large indoor baths. The bathhouse' baths are constantly replenished ""kakenagashi"" style (with some additional waters added) provided by a sodium chloride sulfate spring (mildly acidic hypotonic extra hot spring). The waters of this spring are said to treat such ailments as muscle soreness and atopy."

蓼科山⛰の登山後に訪問しました。元々は温泉旅館だったそうなのですが、今は日帰り入浴のみです。大人700円です。プラスαで貸切温泉もあります。渡り廊下の様な作りで、色々な湯船が楽しめます。真冬に行った時は、この渡り廊下で、せっかく温まった身体が冷えてしまった記憶があります。熱めのお湯ですので、あまり長時間の入浴はできません。休憩室もゆっくり利用できます。微かな硫黄臭もありますが、飲用はできません。

A plateau resort 1,250 meters above ground, you’ll find a “romance area” with zinnias and rudbeckias, and in the “white birch area,” you’ll see Fujimi Kougen heremocallis, hydrangeas, and a number of seasonal blooms. There’s also an observation platform from which you can view Mt. Fuji, the South Alps (Akaishi Mountains), and the North Alps (Hida Mountains) on a sunny day, basking in the grandeur of nature. Handicapped individuals can borrow outdoors wheelchairs for free.

富士見公園天空カートで頂上までいきます。上りも下りも、人が歩く速さで移動します。白樺が綺麗で、高山植物も見ながら進みます。快晴の天気はそれほど望めないとのことでしたが、幸運に恵まれ、頂上の展望台からは、綺麗が富士山を仰ぐことができました。次は、徒歩で挑戦したいです。

The Suwa city museum of ART is in a space converted from what used to be a “Memorial Hall” for Katakura Industries, which was built in 1943. It is Nagano Prefecture’s first public art museum. The museum opened in 1956 and is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property. It has a collection of nearly 1,400 items mainly focused on modern art, including works by artists both local and celebrated nationwide. It’s about a seven-minute walk from the west exit of JR Kami-Suwa Station.

温泉施設の片倉館と併設されており、美術館、温泉、諏訪湖畔と楽しむことができます。近くには間欠泉などもあるのでこの付近を散策するにはお勧めの場所です。

"This complex is located in a corner of the Takeya Miso Factory located in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture. Besides art exhibits related to Takeya Miso, you can purchase original products using Takeya Miso and miso made in limited quantities. In addition, you can eat miso soup with pork and vegetables and sesame miso soft-serve ice cream in the food corner ""30 BAR,"" and it is visited by many people touring the factory."

諏訪湖ウォーキングの最中に発見して訪問。味噌を買いに入ったのですが味噌ソフトが美味しそうで購入。でも味噌の風味はあまりしなかったですね。豚汁はこのご時世なのか販売休止。ここの口コミや写真見ると美味しそうなので食べたかったなあ。

This brewery was established in 1789 along National Route 20 in Suwa, Suwa City. It sells high-quality spirits brewed using groundwater that runs underneath Kirigamine Highland. Tours of the facility are offered as well (unavailable from October until around March). There’s also a popular local brew available called “Suwa Roman Beer” that was created by the chief brewer.

1789年創業の酒蔵です。訪れた時は試飲は中止していました。こちらでは300ccの３本セットが運び良さそうで2セット買ってしまいました(１つはギフト)。濁り酒、辛口も入っていて楽しめるセットでした。麗人のネーミングは、麗人(美しい人)のようなきれいなお酒を醸したい、と言う願いをこめてつけられたとの事です。

This is a museum of contemporary Japanese paintings and glass works on the shore of Lake Suwa. The museum displays glass works by Emil Galle, the master of French decorative art, and René Lalique, a representative artist of both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras and others. The glass works exhibited are highly valued and regarded as one of the best glass collections in the world. There is also a coffee shop overlooking Lake Suwa.
