Nagano Pref. Matsumotoshi Adumi Norikura Kogen

This is a day-trip onsen facility in Norikura Kogen highland in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture that was remodeled and reopened in 2013. Both the inner baths and rotemburo open-air baths allow patrons to take in the natural scenery of Mt. Norikura, and guests can enjoy the hot springs while enjoying their fill of the new green leaves in spring and the changing leaves in autumn. The warm water that is used is natural hot spring water with a milky-white color that is said to have relieved the tired body of warlord Shingen Takeda. There is also a rest area and restaurant on site, and visitors can relax here after strolling or skiing on the highland.

乗鞍高原にある日帰り温泉。バスターミナルのある観光センターから道路を挟んだ反対側にあるのでアクセスは抜群。この温泉は、白濁した正真正銘の硫黄泉。硫黄の匂いがしないと温泉に入った気分にならないというマニアの人でも満足するに違いない。ただ、泉温が少し高めなので、長く入るのはちょっと苦しい。露天風呂もある。

This day-trip hot spring facility is located in Hakuba Village, Kita-azumi County, Nagano Prefecture. It has gained popularity because you can see Mt. Hakuba, Mt. Shakushi and Mt. Hakubayari (Hakuba's three symbolic peaks) from the rotenburo (open-air baths) with Happo Ridge in the background. You can wear off fatigue while enjoying cherry blossoms in the rotenburo (open-air bath) during the spring. There is also a shop in the facility with plenty of souvenirs.

I have not tried any other onsets so cannot really compare. Its a little onset, not much in English but there are so much information everywhere about the etiquettes of onset which I did not get...

This place got renovated as well. its much cleaner now... it seems like the whole of Hakuba is getting renovated and new shops appearing everywhere... Anyway... I think most the onsen water...

The facility’s detached open air bath makes excellent use of the surrounding nature-rich scenery and is said to have been a favorite of generations of Matsumoto Domain lords. One of the biggest of the five hot spring facilities in Hakuba Happo-one, from Happo no Yu’s open-air bath you can get a stunning view of Shirouma Sanzan (three main mountains of Shirouma) and the Hakuba Happo-one ski area. Obinata no Yu is the closest day-trip onsen resort to the source of the hot spring. The natural hydrogen spring is said to have anti-aging properties. It’s a popular place for lots of people on the way to Hakuba Daisekkei. From the open-air bath in the winter you can enjoy the snow covered surroundings outside. They also have separate individual bathtubs too. The use of washing facilities during the winter is not permitted. Shampoo and hairdryers are available free of charge. The hot spring sells their own towels and they can also be rented so you can turn up and take a bath whether you have brought your own towel or not.

Obinata Onsen is nice real onsen close to Hakubata. It features one ”pool” with natural water at around 40c (it is little bit cooler in the far end). They provide towels and slippers. Drinks...

This day-use bathhouse adjoins Fureai Yamabekan, a community center with a distinctive kura storehouse-style design consisting of white plaster walls and a tiled roof. The atmospheric bathhouse stands at the entranceway to the Utsukushigahara Plateau. The waters of the bathhouse' alkaline simple spring are colorless, flavorless, and odorless; somewhat tepid in temperature, they have a soft feel. The bathhouse is open from early in the morning until late at night year round, and as such if you time it right, you might just find yourself relaxing in what is effectively your own private hot spring bathhouse. There is a classroom on the second floor of the bathhouse where you can learn how to make soba noodles (advance reservation required) but be sure to make your reservation early - the bathhouse does not accept reservations the same day or one day in advance.

The bathhouse also has four private rooms and a large banquet hall which can be used for parties and events with an advance reservation.

管理も行き届いていないし不親切。他にもっといい温泉が周辺にあるのでここを選ぶ必要はないと思います。白馬は基本的に客を客と思ってないところがあるので、慣れましたがこんな接客でもお客が来るなんてすごいですね。どうしても、お金を払ってまで不快な思いを体験したい人におすすめです。

A public bathing facility surrounded by the forests of Tobira Onsen deep in the mountains about 40 minutes outside of Matsumoto. The hot spring was initially excavated, and the simple alkaline spring flows freely from the source. The outdoor bath has a garden with locally quarried yamabe stone, and you can enjoy the seasonal scenery during a soak. Bathing there is said to be good for nerve pain, joint pain, and chronic digestive diseases. The hot spring water is a mild 40 degrees, gentle on the skin, and keeps you toasty warm even after the bath. Bubbling up at an abundant rate of 300 liters per minute, you can bring some of the hot spring water home with you from the faucet outside.

This is a day-trip hot spring facility located in Nagano Prefecture’s Azumino City. It is loved by locals as a hot spring that can be used easily, and guests can enjoy the atmosphere of the hot spring set amidst the mountains. The building takes on the appearance of an old Japanese-style house and is complete with a large room where guests can take their time and relax. The hot spring is also called Bijin-no-Yu (beautiful women’s water) since it is said to be good for the skin, and guests can enjoy both the rotemburo (open-air bath) and the indoor bath. Guests may enter the bath after purchasing a ticket from the vending machine when they enter, and they can relax for up to three hours for free. They also sell fresh local vegetables in the vegetable corner.

This day-use hot spring bathhouse is situated on the bank of the Azusa River, filled with snowmelt flowing from the Northern Japan Alps, 20 kilometers from the center of Matsumoto City along National Route 158 driving toward Kamikochi. The bathhouse has an indoor bathing area with a jacuzzi and an outdoor bath with a view of the surrounding seasonally changing mountains. The waters of the bathhouse' alkaline simple spring are viscous to the touch and instantaneously grant bathers smooth skin. These waters are considered some of the best in the country and are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, muscle soreness, and chronic digestive diseases. Many tourists stop by here on the way home from visiting Kamikochi and Mt. Norikura.

A two-minute walk from the Sawando ohashi bus stop. This day trip hot spring bathhouse is located right next to the western end of the Sawando-Ohashi Bridge. The bathhouse has both men's and women's indoor and outdoor baths. The outdoor baths offer views of the surrounding mountains, including beautiful fall foliage in autumn and snowy landscapes in winter. Sawando Onsen's mildly alkaline hypotonic high temperature spring is quite hot at 74° C. Its waters are said to aid recovery from fatigue and promote health in addition to treating nerve pain and muscle soreness. Just a short walk from the bus stop Kyukamura, this hot spring is in the Kyukamura Norikura-Kogen resort located south of the Echo Line from Zengoro Falls. One of the four hot springs in Norikura Highland, it is said to be effective against neuralgia, diabetes, and chronic digestive diseases. The spring quality is a calcium magnesium hydrogen carbonate hot spring, clear and colorless. There are two large baths, one open-air and the other indoor, which can be enjoyed by overnight guests from 11:00 to 24:00 and from 5:00 to 9:00, and are also available for a day trip from 11:00 to 16:00 (registration closes at 15:00). There is also a lounge where you can take a rest.
