- Nagano Shiojiri-shi Narai 1346-3
- A traditional Japanese arched bridge spanning the clear Narai River in Narai-juku, Shiojiri City. The beautiful bridge is made entirely of hinoki cypress and is one of the largest of its kind not using bridge piers in Japan. Today, the bridge connects National Route 19 (the Nakasendo Road) and Narai-juku. The complex structure of the arching bridge pairs well with the surrounding townscape, which still looks much as it did in the Edo period. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, a lush riverside park and expansive grass lawn park are also located nearby. The bridge is lit up at night from early April to late November, enabling visitors to enjoy a fairytale-like aspect of the bridge which contrasts with its daytime majesty.

- Nagano Suwa-gun Shimosuwamachi Suwa Taisha
- "A bridge situated in front of the Suwa Taisha Shimosha Harumiya's grand torii gate. Believed to have been built in the Muromachi period, it is said to be Suwa Taisha Shrine's oldest structure, still standing in the center of the road which was once the main approach to the shrine. Because the bridge's arch resembles the curve of a taiko drum, it is also known as ""Taiko Bridge."" According to legend, in ancient times, worshippers, no matter how high their status, would get down from their horse or palanquin here before visiting the shrine, and even today during Suwa Taisha Shrine's Senza deity transference festival, the portable shrine carrying the mitamashiro symbol of the deity crosses this bridge."

- Nagano Kitasaku-gun Karuizawamachi
- "A bridge situated along Prefectural Route 133 in Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku County, Nagano Prefecture. Literally meaning ""two hands,"" one theory concerning the origin of the bridge's name is that it comes from the sad scene of travelers who would say goodbye when Karuizawa was a post station town on the Nakasendo Road, or that it is where people would see off travelers leaving the post station town."

Nagano Areas
Nagano prefecture is an exciting mix of mountains, hot spring monkeys, and preserved Edo history. At the heart of the Japanese Alps, Nagano is one of the country’s most popular destinations, whether in winter for its snow sports and the much-loved Jigokudani Monkey Park or in the warmer months for discovering the undulating hills on foot. For fantastic Edo architecture, head to the Kiso Valley for a 60-kilometer stretch of quaint wooden buildings that marked the Nakasendo route 200 years ago.
