Situated along the Shinano Ina Alps Highway at the entranceway to the famous cherry blossom viewing area of Takato travelling om downtown Ina City, the shop's signature product is its Kashiwa Manju steamed buns wrapped in an oak leaf. The shop offers three choices of filling: tsubuan coarse sweet red bean paste, edible wild plant and rice, and smooth bean paste in a buckwheat and walnut dough. These exquisite culinary gems, made with Nagano wheat and buckwheat flour for the dough, exude the culture of Nagano. A perfect place for tourists to pick up gifts and souvenirs, many of the shop's sweets are rooted in the area, such as the Sakusaku Kansuke crispy wafer cakes made with amaranth, a local Ina specialty product; and Takato Manju, a Takato standard.

    A one-minute walk from Komagane Station on the JR Iida Line. This long-standing Japanese and Western confectionary shop was established in 1928. Carrying both Western and Japanese confections, for three generations the shop has preserved traditions and established visual styles while at the same time evolving with the times. The shop's sweets incorporating local ingredients are particularly popular, such as the Yomekko Mochi yubeshi dumplings made with chestnuts and local soy sauce; and the Fuwatto Bouche, a dough mixed with Komagane sesame seeds, white peaches, lemons, matcha green tea, and other seasonal flavors filled with whipped cream and sweet bean jam. The shop aims to serve chestnut confections unlike anything found anywhere else, and popular products include the Kuri Tsukuri, a light azuki bean yokan jelly with a candied chestnut inside; and the Ume Tsukuri, a plum pulp yokan jelly made with Japanese plums marinated in honey. The shop's numerous visually delightful products influenced by the unique cultural features of Obuse make for perfect gifts and souvenirs. Here you can also by Mizore, large chunks of candied chestnut, a confection which won the chairman's prize at the Kashi Hakurankai confection exhibition. Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the town center and surrounded by a tranquil natural area, visitors are encouraged to stop by this establishment.

The shop uses only superior domestically grown chestnuts with a focus on chestnuts from the local Obuse area. The shop sorts its choice chestnuts while still fresh based on sweetness and tenderness, using only specific types of chestnuts for specific recipes to ensure customers can enjoy the innate deliciousness of chestnuts.

    This long-established western sweets shop founded in 1884 was given a new building in 1998, and features a simple yet innovative design that blends in to the townscape of the Matsumoto castle town. Their representative sweets are the steamed confection Kaiun-oimatsu and Japanese style nougat Shinmito. With a cute swan as its icon, their western-style sweet Swan Lake is also popular and is frequently featured in magazines. They have a soft ice cream robot inside the store, and guests can purchase their treat by operating the touch panel themselves. The closest station is Matsumoto Station.

    以前、頻繁に松本を訪れていたころに1、2度来たことがありますが、職場へのお土産を買うために久しぶりに訪れました。 以前と違い、イートインコーナーが充実していました。 何種類か常温で持ち帰れるお菓子を買いましたが、値段はやや高め。味は間違いないです。

    This is an old Japanese confectionery shop in Obuse Town, Kamitakai County, Nagano Prefecture, and the Kurirakugan sweet introduced by the first owner in 1808 is said to be the start of Obuse chestnut sweets. Maintaining traditional flavors and techniques, they sell a variety of sweets of chestnuts from Japan and abroad. In the wide space of the pure Japanese interior are lined a variety of sweets including the popular Jun Kuri Yokan made with just chestnuts, sugar and vegetable gelatin, and the Jun Kuri Kanoko which is pure chestnut bean paste matched with pieces of chestnut. Both inside and out there are rest spaces in which one can take a break from shopping.

    We went there after our visit to the Hokusai Museum to get some snacks. They have a big variety of cakes in glass display shelves. They were tasty. The chestnut ice cream was not available. There...

As well as the dried jelly candy, Misuzuame, made with agar and starch syrup, the shop also sells a range of jams and jelly. The building, built in 1924, has been designated as a registered tangible cultural asset. The interior of the store has been created with a fusion of Japanese and Western styles, and decorated with modern furniture. The shop is located a short distance from Ueda Station making it a key city landmark.

It has a history of popularity as an Iiyama souvenir. “Chestnut chuka manju” with chestnut-filled red bean paste in dora-yaki is recommended. Everything is made fresh, so the sekihan rice and okowa are great but require a reservation. The owner trained in a Western confection shop, so you may see fruit cakes out sometimes too.

    渋温泉に滞在中に訪れました。 メインストリートにあります。 蒸したての温泉まんじゅうがあるとかかれたお知らせを見て入りました。 温泉まんじゅうは通常のものと黒糖のものがありました。 他にもおいしそうな和菓子がいっぱいありました。 お店の中にテーブルが1卓あり座って食べることもできました。 蒸したての温泉まんじゅうをお茶を頂いて食べました。 甘すぎずしっとりしていてとてもおいしかったです。

    This is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop known for a famous Tateshina confection, Kuzobee-mochi (rice cake). The origin of the rice cake is that in 1839 the ancestor, Yazaki Soji, who established Tateshina Hot Springs, handed out the rice cakes to the guests who came to take a bath. The rice cake comes in the five flavors of wormwood, perilla, chestnut, walnut and cherry in spring. The rice cakes remain a perennial favorite as a souvenir with their moist and rustic taste and elegant packaging.

    皇室の方々も立ち寄って、もとめていかれた名店。こういうお店を本当の老舗というのだろう。今のお菓子にはない、奥深い美味しさが、じわ-っと、口中に広がる。ぜひ多くの人々に食べてもらいたい。
