Dedicated to be an art museum for people, the facility employs universal design and also provides braille versions of its picture books and three-dimensional copies of its artwork.

    原田泰治さんは信州飯田出身のナイーフ画家で、非常に有名な方だ。ほっと安心する懐かしい風景を描き続けている。その泰治さんの美術館の2階にある喫茶室。ガラス張りの壁面越しに、諏訪湖が眼前に広がる様は一見の価値がある。ケーキセットは500円という良心的な価格だから、絵を見てほっとし、湖を見てほっとし、ホットコーヒを飲んでほっとしてみてはいかが!

    The Shinshu Shinmachi Museum is a one-minute walk from the Bijutsukan Mae bus stop or a 40-minute drive from the Nagano Interchange. It is next to the Shinshu Shinmachi Fossil Museum and the Arishima Ikuma Museum. Visitors can buy a single ticket that admits them to all three museums. The more than 2600 works in the collection were all received from the artists or as gifts from donors. Among the most prominent works in the museum are watercolors of local scenery by Shin Kurihara and 200 woodblock prints by Kishio Koizumi, some of whose works are also in the Louvre. The exhibits are changed every few months.

    穂高駅前の観光案内所で借りた自転車で20分、近づくほどに看板が少なくなり右側の看板を見落とし1kmほど先まで行ってしまったが 緑に囲まれた小さな美術館に着き、お目当ての武本嘉成を楽しむことができた。

The permanent exhibition features a wide variety of art works, including paintings, crafts, and sculptures mainly by artists associated with Tatsuno Town, as well as archaeological materials such as clay figures from the Jomon period. The second-floor lobby has a library corner with a vast collection of books, magazines, and exhibition pictorial records, as well as a wide range of original goods such as postcards and pictorial records.

    Musée PEYNET is located within Karuizawa Taliesin. On display are personal painting tools and original paintings by the French artist Raymond Peynet. Here you can see the “Lovers” series of works painted by Peynet. Different exhibitions and events are held three times a year. The building makes use of the atelier villa designed by Czech architect Antonin Raymond. Opening times vary depending on the time of year so please check in advance.

    高原文庫に出かけた際ン十年ぶりに立ち寄った。ペイネのほのぼのとした世界が好きでこれまで何冊か知り合いの若者にささやかな結婚プレゼントとして差し上げた。今回は生誕100年記念として娘さんが所蔵していた原画の公開もありその他初期の作品をも拝見することができた。

    静かな美術館でした。所蔵、展示作品はあまり多くはないですが、作品と美術館の雰囲気がマッチして楽しめました。 安曇野からの雄大な山岳風景画など大きな作品が多く結構迫力ありました。

This art museum can be reached by traveling from the Takahashi Family Residence the north of Matsumoto Castle and walking a short distance east along Okachimachi Street. The museum's standing collection consists of 50 pieces by Yasuka Sudo, a painter who created around 1,000 works of art up to the time of his death at age 30 on the themes of light, darkness, and life. The artist's work has won numerous awards at events such as the Tokyo International Mini Print Triennial and the France-Japan Multinational Contemporary Art Exhibition. The museum also holds special exhibitions. Elementary and junior high school students, as well as students attending a high school in the prefecture, can enter the museum for free.

    "Located a five-minute drive from the Suwa Interchange and eight minutes from Chino Station, the Horo Museum is the first museum in Japan to have a permanent display of the works of Kiyoshi Yamashita, the vagabond artist who was affectionately known as ""the Naked General."" Most of his works were collages, but he also painted designs on ceramics, created pointillist paintings, sketches, and more. The opportunity to see so many kinds of his works is the main attraction of this museum. The texture of his collage is distinctive when viewed up close. Some of his works, like ""Niagara Fireworks and Spectators"", which has a fireworks display over Lake Suwa as its subject, or ""Suwa Shrine: Akimiya"", have deep local connections. The museum building is a tatch room structure which was built in the snowy region of Yanma in Niigata and later moved here and remodeled; the hipped roof building mixes both Japanese and Western elements. The spacious museum is filled with more than 1,500 examples of folk art, including decorative frames and basins, boxes of various sizes, partitioning screens, all manner of trays, confectionary boxes, bookends, and magazine racks. The museum's collection of 1,200 wooden sculptures gathered from around the world are also well worth a look. Here visitors can have fun learning about the traditions and history of folk art.

This museum was built to preserve for future generations the illustrated letters submitted by the public for the ""Illustrated Letters for the 21th Century"" project conducted in 2000. The museum has also gathered illustrated letters from other projects and its collection consists of around 1.2 million illustrated letters. The museum has a free illustrated letter creation corner where reservation-only illustrated letter classes are held; the museum can also lend you everything you need to make an illustrated letter, and people of all ages can have fun making their very own illustrated letter. The museum shop sells original materials for making illustrated letters. Note that the museum is closed in winter from December to April."

    A 20-minute drive from Sakudaira Station and a 25-minute drive from the Saku Interchange. A museum situated on the grounds of the Osawa Sake Brewery along with the Shinano Sanrin Art Museum operating out of a remodeled building once used for yeast fermentation. Exhibits include tools used to make sake and a sake jar, today the oldest extant sake vessel in Japan, which was created in the same year the company was founded in 1689. Visitors can also see many materials relating to local history such as an edict proclaiming a prohibition on Christianity and an ancient map pf Mochizuki Castle. Visitors can taste and purchase sakes on the first floor; the Shinano no Kataribe junmai sake, only sold here, is particularly recommended.

Many of the pictures should look familiar - try comparing them with the actual locations in Obuse! The museum's unique collection also includes original pictures used in the ""Sasabune Canoe"" nature exploration picture book series.     An art museum located on the grounds of the Joraku-ji Temple. The Joraku-ji Temple stands on the bank of a pond, and the museum preserves and displays works of art connected to the temple as well as ema votive tablets and other objects offered to the Kitamuki Kannon Temple on the grounds. The museum is famous for its collection of ancient roof tiles from famous temples across the country, but there are many other rare items in the collection well-worth seeing, such as woodblock prints by Shiko Munakata, a prayer diary created by the great Tokugawa Ieyasu at the age of 71, a manuscript written in Hakushu Kitahara's own hand, and a statue of Kannon dating to China's Song dynasty. Note that the museum's hours differ slightly depending on the time of year.

Per his dying request, the museum was opened to preserve and display the works of Hirosuke Tasaki, a Western-style painter who had a studio in Karuizawa and who was awarded the Order of Culture. In addition to numerous works depicting the natural beauty of Yatsugatake Mountains and Mt. Tateshina, the museum also contains exhibits on the artist's exchanges with other painters.

    田崎廣助氏の作品が展示されている美術館。若い頃の留学先のパリ、その後は日本の山がモチーフ。亡くなられた後の開館になってしまったそうだが、中庭を囲むようにぐるっと回れる建物も素晴らしい。

    This art museum is located near the Azumino City Hall Toyoshina office. It features approximately 2,000 of painter Yoshihei Miya’s works, some of which inspired Mori Ogai’s novels. There are also about 200 works by Hiroatsu Takata, a giant of Japanese modern sculpture, and about 170 sketches by Kuni Kobayashi. The regular exhibitions aim to showcase the artists’ entire careers. There’s also a free garden modeled after a medieval monastery.
