This natural foods store located along the approach to Minobusan Kuonji Temple specializes in shiitake mushrooms and yuba (tofu skins). Minobu yuba is said to have originated from tofu skins offered to Nichiren, the founder of Nichiren Buddhism, by acolytes training under him at Kuonji Temple. Their completely additive-free tofu skins are made exclusively with domestic soy beans and underground water from Mt. Fuji. Their Seisui raw tofu skins, which are lifted out of the soy milk slowly and carefully folded into layers, are their most popular product. Their domestic and agrochemical-free dried shiitake mushrooms are great for use at home or as gifts. "This gallery is out about two minutes from Masuho Interchange on the Chubu-Odan Expressway. It is located inside a renovated miso brewery built more than 150 years ago where Yorozuya Jozoten once made miso paste and soy sauce. The first floor features a cafe and a shop where visitors can buy exclusive products such as an undiluted daiginjo version of Shunnoten, the brewery's flagship sake, as well as castellas cakes made with sake lees. Sake tastings are available for fee. The ""Roku"" gallery on the second floor holds exhibitions on an irregular basis. Every autumn, the gallery exhibits a collection of the poet Yosano Akiko, who had a connection with the brewery."

around-area-map

Yamanashi prefecture is the proud home of one of Japan’s most celebrated icons: Mount Fuji. Although the mountain straddles both Yamanashi and Shizuoka, the most breathtaking views of Fuji-san can be seen from the Fuji Five Lakes north of the mountain in Yamanashi prefecture. The plethora of outdoor activities in and around the lakes all have the benefit of the country’s highest mountain as their backdrop, and we can assure you that it is an unforgettable sight.
