    Visitors to this prefectural museum that opened in 2005 can learn about the history of Yamanashi Prefecture while enjoying the scenery. Its prime location gives its courtyards views of the high mountains that surround the Kofu basin. This includes Mount Shirane, which is often mentioned in Japanese poetry. The museum's permanent exhibits include a 1/1,200 scale 3D model of how Yamanashi appears from several hundred kilometers up, as well as exhibits on 19 themes related to the history of Yamanashi and the lives of its people. The museum also hosts special exhibits and events.

To that end, it conducts reduced pesticide farming in accordance with the Agricultural Chemicals Control Act. The farm grows its strawberries in elevated planters, allowing them to be picked while standing. It also offers cherry picking starting in May, peach picking starting in July, and grape picking starting in September, allowing visitors to enjoy picking the farm's delicious fruit all year long.

You can also join their special Seasonal Fruit Delivery Service, which sends fresh fruit to your home three times a year.

    フル−ツラインにあるわくわく観光村の駐車場に停めて(無料)、農園に向かいます。 園内で受付と料金を支払い、説明を受けた後は、時間まで自由行動。予めHPで来園を予約するシステムで、40分と50分の2コ−スがありますが、40分で十分満足できました。何種ものさくらんぼがありますが、名前が分からなかったのが残念。 予約制のため安心してさくらんぼ狩りを楽しめました。

    A 10-minute drive from the Katsunuma Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. This activity center and cafe, situated on National Route 20, offers activities such as farming experiences, peach and grape picking, and cooking using farm produce you gather. Here visitors can make a variety of dishes using fruits and vegetables they have gathered themselves, including desserts, jams to give as souvenirs, compote, and more. The center's crafting activities, such as woodworking using peach and grape wood; and herbarium-making, are also popular. Visitors can also enjoy the cafe, which serves curries, pizzas, desserts, and other dishes made with fresh ingredients; and a farmers' market.

    こちらでジャム作りをしました。黄金桃を使い、上白糖とレモンで家でも作れるというジャム作りを楽しめました。子供も一緒になって包丁を使ったり、お鍋で煮込んだりと喜んでいました。手作りのジャムは絶品です。他にもほうとうやピザなど親子で楽しめる食育イベントがたくさんありまた参加したいです。

    This tourist farm is about five minutes from Ichinomiya-Misaka Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. It is located in Misaka Kajitsukyo, a part of Fuefuki City with a number of peach and grape farms. The peach picking season runs from early July to late August. Hakuho and Hakuto peaches are offered during the first and second half of the season, respectively. In addition to peach picking, you can also enjoy all-you-can-eat chilled peaches at the farm's shop. From early August to late October, guests can enjoy all-you-can-eat grapes including Kyoho, Pione, and Kaiji. The farm can be enjoyed rain or shine thanks to its tatami-matted room and covered rest area. The farm's barrier-free design allows visitors in wheelchairs and those with baby carriages to enjoy picking fruit.

    仲間たちと5人で訪問。 ぶどう食べ放題+お土産一房っもぎとりのプランを利用しました。 食べ放題は売店で食べるコースと農園で食べるコースが有り、食べられる品種がコースで異なります。今回は売店で食べるコースにしました。 売店で食べるぶどうは事前に冷やしてあり、暑さのなかで美味しさ倍増でした! みんなでもりもり食べて、あっという間に3皿おかわりしてしまいました。 またぜひとも行ってみたいです!

    Located about five minutes on foot from Yamanashi-shi Station on the JR Chuo Line, Lake Chidori is an artificial lake at the northern edge of Manriki Park. It was originally a holding pond for agricultural use, but now it has been repurposed into a place for rest and recreation for the local residents. Lined with willow and cherry trees, it is a popular spot for leisurely strolls during the cherry blossom and autumn leaf seasons. Nearby is Sashide-no-Iso, a place immortalized in the 12th-century poetry anthology Kokinwakashu. Every spring, the Daitakesan Festival is held here, and in the summer, the local Chamber of Commerce sponsors a fireworks festival.

    Keitoku-in Temple is located in the city of Koshu in Yamanashi Prefecture. Tokugawa Ieyasu, who later became shogun, founded it in 1582 in memory of Takeda Katsuyori, who committed suicide on nearby Mt. Tenmoku. It suffered several fires in the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, but the main gate, which never burned, is a Prefectural Designated Cultural Property, and the grounds and the grave of Takeda Katsuyori are Prefectural Designated Historic Sites. About fifty graves are on that site, including Katsuyori's wife and his son Nobukatsu, along with numerous maidservants. It attracts visitors as the last resting place of the Takeda clan.

    Ryumon Gorge runs from the Tano District, Yamato-cho, in the city of Koshu to the Tenmoku District. Walking trails have been put in place for 2.4 kilometers along the Hikawa Valley, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful natural environment in every season, from new greenery in the spring to autumn leaves. Each species of tree is identified with a nameplate, making the trail a superb place for nature study. There are spots in the gorge where visitors can fish for char, amago trout, and other river fish. The trail ends at Seiunji Temple and Tenmokuzan Onsen, a hot spring where weary hikers can rest for a while.

    This spot in Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture is famous for flowers. Located on the valley between Mt. Kurodake, the highest upstream area of Ashigawa-cho and Mt. Shakagatake, it's famous for its rare growths of Japanese lily of the valley. These flowers are a registered Yamanashi Prefecture Natural Monument, and you can stroll through them at leisure in forest at 1,300 meters height. During the best season at the end of May, they hold the Suzuran-no-Sato festival.

    This wine cafe adjoining Kai Winery is located along Prefectural Route 34 in Enzanshimoozo, Koshu City. It uses eastern warehouses from the Edo period that have been recognized as tangible cultural assets to Japanese history. The menu offers all of the wines brewed by the winery, as well as snacks, lunch, coffee and homemade cakes. On top of a free winery tour, you can also enjoy wine tastings and shopping.

    一人でもカップルでも楽しるカフェです。数種類のワインの他、軽食(ドリア、パスタ、ピザ等)やケーキを食べることができます。でも、量は少ないです(TдT)。ワインは、グラス(450円位〜)、ボトル(グラスの3倍の料金)があります。ワイナリー見学もできますが、かなり家庭的小規模なので10分もかかりません。駅からは徒歩15分位です。

    A fruit farm located in Enzan-shimohagihara, Koshu City. One of the largest of its kind in the city, the farm grows cherries and other fruits. From early through late June, the farm offers 40-minute all-you-can-eat cherry picking, during which time you can enjoy the farm's tasty cherries fresh off the tree. Those who have made an advance reservation are given preferential entry; reservations are accepted from late April.
