- This forest spreads across a 1542-meter elevation hill emerging as an isolated part of the eastern ridge of Mt. Akadake. Filled with nearly 1000 Japanese azalea, it becomes flush with crimson every June due to the azalea flowers. Complete with a parking lot, tourist information center, and an observation deck, you can easily enjoy some flower-viewing, strolling, or hiking.

- "The name of this spring literally translates to ""Life Extending Water,"" and as this implies, according to legend drinking its waters would give long life. One legend says that the forces of the mighty samurai lord Takeda Shingen stopped here to drink as they made their way to Shinano, restoring their strength. Today, visitors are not permitted to drink the spring's waters due to environmental conservation reasons, but the Kannondaira plain is situated in front of the pond and visitors can take in a sweeping view of the Southern Japan Alps and Mt. Fuji, and many people make their way here to take in the lovely area scenery."

普通自転車と電動アシスト付き自転車が、ここで借りられます。 私は甲斐一宮浅間神社まで普通自転車を借りて行きましたが、電動アシスト付き自転車なら山の上の方に有る「フルーツパーク」や「ほったらかし温泉」へも楽に行くことが出来ます。 電車で山梨市へ行くなら利用しない手はないと思います。

すずらんの里祭りの期間中は、ここから群生地までの無料送迎バスが発着します。河口湖駅や石和温泉駅からバスで来て、ここで乗り換えて群生地に向かうことになります。今回は、黒岳の登山と兼ねてすずらんを見に来ました。ここでは農産物の直売以外にもうどんなどの軽食を販売していますので登山前の腹ごしらえが出来ます。明るく元気な地元のおばさんを見るとこちらも元気づけられます。

少し古いかんじの住宅でした、縄文土器は使用されていません。縄文文化の北杜市期待してたので、やや拍子抜けでございました。きのこも有名な村ですから。
