There is also a science museum located in the park that features exhibits on a basic theme of a journey through humanity and also hosts a variety of events.

- A strawberry garden in Omagari-cho, Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. They utilize an elevated hydroponics system, so the fruit does not touch the ground, allowing you to eat safe and clean strawberries. People in wheelchairs and people with strollers can also enjoy strawberry-picking here. In addition to 30 minute all-you-can-eat, they sell homemade organic strawberry jam and strawberries as souvenirs.

Grape picking can be enjoyed rain or shine and visitors can bring their own lunch, making the farm a great destination for families.

- The Kofu Yuki Park Zoo opened in 1919 and celebrated its 100-year history in 2019. It has been a favorite destination ever since its founding. Since 2016, members of the zoo staff have acted as animal guides, and they make presentations about the animals' environments and characteristics twice every Saturday and Sunday, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, making use of the knowledge that animal caretakers acquire in the course of their work.

This Zoo doesn't have the right facilities for the animals. Cages for the animals were too small and they all looked as if they were starving. Wouldn't recommend go no there.

- This athletic park intended as a place for building healthy bodies is widely beloved by the local populace. It features a baseball stadium, an athletic field, tennis courts, a gymnasium, and indoor pool, and more. It is frequently the venue for prefectural tournaments and other events. The park also includes facilities for training camps, especially during summer vacation. These facilities are available to the open public, but require reservations three months in advance. The other facilities require a reservation one month in advance.

- Hagiwara Fruit Orchard is located on a south-facing slope in the Kofu Basin, about two hours by car from the MetropolitanTokyo area. Visitors can pick cherries, peaches, grapes, or other fruits, and eat all they want. On the grounds is Yamaki-yaCafe, identifiable by its red peaked roof and its red wooden walls. It serves drinks and sweets made with fruit grown in the orchard. The terrace seating, which affords a panorama of the Kofu Basin and a stunning view of Mt. Fuji, is highly recommended.

- Lake Shibire, which has been designated as a Yamanashi Prefectural Natural Park, is a beautiful mountain lake located at an altitude of 850 meters. It is one of the Fuji Eight Lakes a group of sacred lakes and marshes that surround Mt. Fuji. This camping ground allows campers to pitch tents on the lake shore or hang a hammock in the forest. The tent site cannot be accessed by car, so you have to carry your luggage by wheelbarrow.

- A park on top of a hill overlooking Otsuki City, Katsuragawa Wellness Park is divided into three zones, west, central, and east, which each feature their own special facilities. The central zone has an agricultural training garden, and an exhibition hall in which you can experience agriculture and the life in Satoyama, long operated by Koshu. It also has events every season. The east zone has a picnic area where you can barbeque.

The roughly 200 meter-long promenade leads to Saru Bridge, known as one of Japan's three most famous unusual bridges. Part of the park is home to the municipally-operated Otsuki City Local Material Museum. The museum features exhibits on the history and natural environment of Otsuki City, including the 12 Views of Beautiful Fuji.

In addition to grape-picking, you can enjoy peach-picking, or picking Shine Muscat, with its elegant sweetness that you can eat skin and all.

- This museum's collection contains 5,599 nationally-designated Important Cultural Properties including earthen figures, unglazed earthenware, and stone tools. The museum features permanent exhibits on the Shakado ruins, which were discovered in the center of an alluvial fan in the eastern part of the Kofu Basin. The second floor observation lobby offers views of Kofu Basin and some of Japan's best mountains. In April, you can enjoy seeing this beautiful scenery tinted pink by the surrounding peach orchards.

釈迦堂遺跡博物館は、中央自動車道の釈迦堂SA(下り)に車を停めたまま、階段を登るだけで見学出来る博物館です。 訪問時は早朝のため営業していませんでしたが、博物館への登り口付近には遺跡モニュメントや案内板が設置してあり多少は楽しめました。

I have never eaten peaches without peeling it until we visited here. You can bite ripe peaches with the skin. It is like drinking nectar. I want to experience it again.
