    "The ""Yuri no Sato"" park, home to150,000 lilies, is famous for its ""Yuri Lily Festa"" held every June, and is a popular spot visited by 90,000 people every year. Project mapping, as well as over 60,000 underwater lights and LED lights, are used to create a water and sound production and an atmosphere of fantasy within the park. This event is held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the evening. The park is great for families and includes an adventure playground and slides. There is also an area where visitors can enjoy a barbecue in the great outdoors (advance reservations are required)."

    A Japanese confectioner in Onsen 4-Chome, Awara City. Their famous Matsu-no-Tsuyu treat, which has been served to the royal family, is made with egg whites, sugar, and ground coffee and resembles the Shoro species of mushroom. Their Kougetsudo custard pudding, made with local egg yolks, is also popular.

    A temple in Yoshizaki 1-Chome, Awara City. It's origins stem from a rectory created by the monk Rennyo (currently the Yoshizaki Gobo National Historic Site). On the grounds is the Nenrikimon gate, which gifted to the original Kyoto temple by Toyotomi Hideyoshi before being relocated to this location. In the adjacent East Annex there is also a treasure hall.

This was the spot where monk Rennyo Shonin, 8th head of the True Pure Land sect Hongan-ji Temple, proselytized (The monk's lodging at the time is now a National Historic Site, the Yoshizaki Gobo Temple Remains). On the grounds you'll find a bronze statue of the monk Rennyo Shonin as well as a memorial hall.

The strawberries grown in the green house are grown in elevated beds allowing them to be picked without squatting.

On display are materials including armor and historical documents related to the historical occupants of Maruoka Castle including the Honda family and the Arima family.

    A park along National Route 364 in Yamaguchi, Maruoka-cho, Sakai City. The park is marked by the two largest waterwheels in the Hokuriku region with diameters of eight meters and five meters and in the park you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of a mountain village surrounded by nature. Along with a melody chime that rings out every 30 minutes the park has a shop selling locally grown produce and a restaurant, La Clarte, which serves dishes cooked over a wood stove.

You can view the inside of the house and with reservation you can dine in a cafe which uses the house's sunken hearth.

    A historical location located alongside Prefectural Route 7 in Kaji, Mikuni-cho, Sakai City. This is the remains of a battery built in 1852 to defend the coast of the Maruoka Domain. Remains of parapets, which would provide defense from attack while allowing return fire were built from mounded earth and stretch 33 meters from the east to the west. The site is designated as a National Historic Location.

The first floor sells tofu and during the summer soy milk soft-serve icecream. On the second floor they have a restaurant serving tofu cuisine with seasonal organically grown vegetables.

Northeast of Kyoto, the ancient Tojinbo Cliffs separate Fukui prefecture from the Sea of Japan in a stretch of land well worth exploring. Water sports and seaside delicacies are available in abundance as the spectacular rugged coastline flattens down into beaches to the west of the prefecture, while inland, Fukui is home to Zen Buddhist temples and historic ruins.
