- Fukui Echizen-shi Yanagimotomachi ,
- A river valley in the Imadate region of Echizen City. It surrounds the Gankutsudani River, a tributary of the Mizuma River, and is said to be the birthplace of Sasaki Kojiro, a master swordsman from the early Edo period. There are five waterfalls and legend states that Kojiro invented his secret Tsubame-Gaeshi (Turning Swallow) sword technique at Yanagi Falls.

- Fukui Obama-shi Shimonegori
- A famous location located along Prefectural Route 35 in Shimonegori, Obama City. Annually on March 2nd this is the location where they perform the special Omizu-Okuri (water sending) Shinto ritual as a precursor to the Omizu-Tori (water drawing) Shinto ritual that is held at Nara's Todaiji Temple Nigatsudo hall. Okozui, or perfumed water, is poured into the river and it takes 10 days to reach Nara. The surrounding area is maintained as Unose Park and there is also the Unose Museum.

- A gorge that extends from Ono City's Katsuhara region to the Izumi region. In this area in the upper reaches of Kuzuryu River you can enjoy beautiful scenery including the terrain created by the erosion of the flowing river and Hotokebara Dam interwoven with the beautiful colors of the seasons such as spring greens and changing fall colors. This is also an easy place to take a drive as National Route 158 runs parallel to the river.

Fukui Areas
Northeast of Kyoto, the ancient Tojinbo Cliffs separate Fukui prefecture from the Sea of Japan in a stretch of land well worth exploring. Water sports and seaside delicacies are available in abundance as the spectacular rugged coastline flattens down into beaches to the west of the prefecture, while inland, Fukui is home to Zen Buddhist temples and historic ruins.
