The shop also sells the local specialty Tochu Tea and over ten different flavors of handmade Takahama Tabegoro Gelato. You can also rent bicycles.

    An art Gallery that displays and sell handicrafts and focuses on artists working in Fukui. The permanent works on display are wide-ranging and include ceramics, glasswork, lacquerware, cloisonne accessories, woodwork, plant-based dyes, Echizen Japanese paper, and postcards. They hold special theme-based exhibitions every month. These exhibitions also include a wide variety of genres including plant-based dyes and glasswork. Artist led craft workshops are also held on occasion.

Fukui Areas


Northeast of Kyoto, the ancient Tojinbo Cliffs separate Fukui prefecture from the Sea of Japan in a stretch of land well worth exploring. Water sports and seaside delicacies are available in abundance as the spectacular rugged coastline flattens down into beaches to the west of the prefecture, while inland, Fukui is home to Zen Buddhist temples and historic ruins.
